The most fucking miserable time of the year. fact. The
stench of death is everywhere. Can't wait till it's over.

Since when has turning children into little consumerist
whores been a good thing? It's time to pop this Santa and
Jesus bubble.

this is very true. pop the bubble.
but the child whoring business is not yet that visible in
this part of Europe.

It is odd, isn't it, Christmas. Like a melding of all manner
of myth, tradition, religion, pagan festival... mix it all
up and you get "Oh just go to the shops, buy dad socks,
perfume for mum and a shit load of plastic rubbish for
little Wanker"

my fave thing about it is that on christmas day the streets
are empty. i always cycle through the streets then and bask
in the emptiness of the city. then its a fucking ant farm
24/7 especially with these sales and shit... i mean.. don;t
epopel have enough stuff?

I dunno, this year was the best Christmas ever for me. A 4
day piss-up spent making tracks about 8 hours a day and
seeing mates and loved ones the rest of the time. I could
live like this forever.

i enjoyed myself a ton !!!

family, good food, beer, etc etc

was sweet jams !

HOWEVER, it was 52 degrees and sunny, AND i was in
philadelphia (all just didnt make it seem right) - its
supposed to be 2 degrees, and snowy, and maine... :-(

but that aside it was one of the best christmas' ever !

is santa still as populat as he was like 5-10 years ago.
ive got no idea, but i wonder if new generation parents
still tell their kids santa is gonna be going down their
chimney.
youd think itd be smarter to cut the crap and just tell kids
that its buy people things day, but i dunno?

Yeah I love that too, people stay the fuck indoors for that
small window of time. I had a big long music-filled winter
walk on Christmas Eve, it was nice. But come Boxing Day,
everybody's scrambling back to the malls and the snowbanks
start getting dirty with exhaust.

In what way does all of this actually affect you Bill?
I mean, since when has turning children into little
consumerist
whores been an exclusive Christmas thing?

You can actually make the Chritmas period, a normal couple
of weeks if you wanted to. No-one's told you to do anything
you don't want to do, or act any differently.

the idea of being around the ones you love, sharing stories,
spending time together, is nice...esp as you get older and
cant see the folks too often...

that aspect is worth a lot !!!

not being too materialistic and agnostic that side is
ok...do what you want...its fine by me !

Agreed. Christmas isn't nearly as bad as some make it out to
be, with regards to commercialism/materialism and whatnot. I
suppose many of the people that only see it in that light
are just not loved enough. Laugh out loud.

haha - i think you create your own monsters - when i was a
kid sure presents were great but as i aged my family swung
towards the importance of time spent together, a good meal,
good drinks, etc

the people who run around crazy buying their kids useless
shit have dug their own grave - i dont feel sorry for them
one bit...

I had a great Christmas... I got married in May and it was
nice to go home and have a really good time with both
families, (Gems parents live in the same town as mine).

It's ace to see how much of a family member Gem really is to
my brother and sister!

Good stuff.
