Years ago, when I was a catering assistant, this guy said to me, in all seriousness, "Tracy Chapman, funny name for a bloke."

this ridiculous contraption is reponsible for 70s and 80s kids now having severe deformities to their leg muscles, owing to the fact it weighed 8 tons and was like trying to pedal a jcb earthmover. it has a gear stick out of an xr3i, and make you look like you were in the california highway partol when in fact you were in a cul-de-sac in pinner. this might have been dangerous if you'd been able to pedal it above 2 miles an hour.

I lived in a cul-de-sac (in fact I live in one now) but i had the one down from a Grifter, which was the Striker. My brother had the Boxer. A friend had the Grifter XL or something.

Unless both our minds have been thoroughly debilitated by years of alcohol abuse I'd say that you're absolutely right, there was indeed, the Tomahawk.

Me and my twin brother got a Raleigh Striker each for our birthdays when we were 6 or something. They were SHIT HOT for jumping of the kerb out the front of our house.

Like this one here, but in black. It was cool to have black bikes, that way we could pretend to be Street Hawk.

Anyone remember those late 80s black pushbikes with a weird, massive, unaerodynamic box on the headstock that made crap sound effects and had a Wolf's head on it? Truly an IDM vehicle. Pics pls.

Oh yes, the wolfs head was just a sticker/painted on; the box itself was sort of triangular, not shaped like a wolf's head...

Yeah, I know the one you mean; the Street Wolf (and the smaller Street Cub) was a sort of follow up to that. I never had one though.

I'd forgotten quite how blocky and unaerodynamic the mudguards etc were. Don't suppose you've got samples from the sound box? :)

Yes, I can imagine it; a squeel of tyres, the sound of dragging brakes, the honking of car horns. Then, out the maelstrom of sound, a tinny bleeping of an approaching Street Wolf...

Playing card elastic banded to the spokes as the bicycle accelerates for a snare rush. This definately has potential...
