I've been researching DXM for the past 2 days and am thinking about getting some (I wont bother unless I can find the pills.) Anyone have any words of encouragement/warning for me? Anyone have experience smoking weed while on DXM (as I may end up doing this too), is mixing with other stuff a thing to avoid? |

i've had beautiful experiences on DXM in the past. on one particularly nice trip, i was listening to Cocteau Twins' album 'heaven or las vegas.' the lights from the cars racing by on the freeway were coming in through the blinds in my window. it made the whole room spin like a disco ball casting pin-light reflections all over the room. it was quite memorable. |

DXM isnt a pussy drug, even so you can buy it withouth prescribition. Be careful how much you take, and can be a very confsuing experience... |

i went through a period around 4-5 years ago where i was doing it frequently - its technically considered a dissociatve anaesthetic ..... seperate mind from body .... it was a lot of fun for awhile , i ordered a few hundred grams . A typical dose for me was in the 1200 - 1600 mg range , enough for full out of body experiences ... music is awesome on it , especially stuff like autechre . Dont take it thinking its going to be like one of the serotonergic psychedlics [lsd , shrooms] because its a completly different beast ... Lets just say you might find yourself selling god a burrito or something equally bizrre - there are said to be "dxm entitites" which reside at the higher plateaus - Also you can control your hallucinations in a way , such as setting off a an interstellar roller coaster ride , or turning yourself into a stretch armstrong and filling up the whole room , crazy shit like that ... There comes a point with this drug though where you lose the magic [btwn - 50 -150 trips] ..... i recently took 1200 mgs and wasnt fazed - except the comedown made me wish i hadnt done it , first time id done it in two years..... I d say dxm can be a potent tool for exploring that space btwn mind and body , but please if your considering doing it please read the faq and start out with a small dose - around 300 mgs is one bottle of the new robogels as some people have an enzyme defiency which doesnt allow them to process the dxm rendering them fubar .... if you need more information feel free to email me ..... |

i got mad interested in it and finally got a bottle, turned out to only be about 150mg in it, downed it, felt a bit weird after an hour. the only experience i had was when i was on the shitter (damn that diahorrea it [the syrup] induces) i started staring at the floor. it was kinda shimmering with the light it reflected , each point i'd look at on the floor acted as if there was a drop of water falling on it and the slight waves rippling outwards... very disappointing apart from that. will do it better (300-400mg) next time tho :D |

also be careful what is mixed in with the DXM. if you are doing syrups or pills, they often have decongestants and depressants and shit that can be really ruin your trip and your gut in large doses. |

horse: aaaah fuck off topic: did dxm a lot over last summer, but the end i was just taking gelcaps and filling them till they could be filled no more, normally around 1.2 g. im pretty bored of it, havent done it in a few months and dont plan on it, since both me and my friend who i did it with alot have noticed that both of us have had obvious problems with word retreival since the summer, and that is said to be a side effect of dxm. and always always always before you do anything, check up on the stuff of erowid. |

it's not that I really cared so much, it was just really fucking me up last night.. Speaking of which, my first experience with DXM turned out fairly decent. It was pretty insane at first, and I ended up feeling like the only way I could be comfortable was laying down in a totally dark room. If I sat up/stood up or went into a bright area I would instantly start to get more tripped out. For some reason, I was reacting to light like heat... in bright areas I got really hot/ had hot flashes, and had to start taking off some layers of clothing or else I thought I would probably spontaneously combust. In the dark I felt cool and laying down allowed me to enjoy the whole experience much more. After a while my friend Brandon (who took 600mg as well) puked twice, and it didn't phase me until the second time because at that point my stomach was starting to feel like shit. He finally convinced me to walk down to our friend Danielle's appartment (after I told him I would probably puke along the way) because we had no idea where the two people who were supposed to be watching over us had gone, haha. It was walking down the stairs and across the lawn to the other complex that I noticed how fucked my motor skills were. If I didn't have something to hold on to at all times I would zigzag at least 6 times before getting to where I was going. Most of the night was spent down at Danielle's place in her pitch black guest room, while Brandon layed on the bathroom floor listening to my mp3 player. He had it so loud that I could hear it, so we were both just getting tripped out by the music. After I puked twice, I felt much better but still felt like I wasn't in control of my body and had to avoid looking directly at any lights or opening my eyes to wide. I tried to help my friend study to see if my mind was capable of that level of thought and it didn't work too well. Overall, it was a cool first time experience but it will be a while before I do it again. |
