Do you know a software that would allow me to watch DVD
zone 1 whereas my computer DVD player is zone 2 ??

from what I understand the encryption on computers isn't
through software, but through hardware, namely the dvd-drive
itself.

which makes it harder to crack, although not impossible.

try having a look here.

Yeap, what I did was update the firmware with an hacked one,
now it's a universal dvd-drive.

modifying firmware is the best way but you can change it
through windows by going to device manager>properties of dvd
drive>dvd region tab, although there is a limit to the
amount of times you can do it. for unlimited changes there
is a lot of shitware that can do it example

ah, you couldnt go wrong with those!

could you ever get internal VHS players/drives for PCs?
(like with a DVD drive)

video tapes have the same format process

different zones use different fps (frames per second) - pal
is higher than ntsc so on and so on

you could get a dvd player for your tv that is
"non-regional" it will play them all - they used to be VERY
expensive ($1,000 usd) but have come down quite a bit
recently

got mine last year for 30 usd but still prefer video tapes.
Dont like at all the whole "bonus/main title/chapters"
except very rare bonus, it doesnt have the minimal interest
to me.

well vhs is a shit format...it looks like garbage

and foolishly people got rid of beta's and sucked the sony
dick for vhs (BAD MOVE!!!)

so dvd's being a loss-less format are the best choice - yet
even they are inferior to other video formats...

but your average joe doesnt care about video flaws so the
market could feasibly stop at dvd's

though you know it wont - they'll release a better format
and rich people will buy for no reason then other people
will follow suit...like everything
