I just got an m-audio midisport 2x2, and I have my roland
jp 8000 acting as a controller... I first tried arturia moog
modular and that worked instantly, which I guess was because
that program already has a keyboard in it. I'm wondering, is
there a way to use my keyboard to control the sounds coming
from the softsynths inside reason just like I did for the
moog modular? After a few attempts I haven't managed to make
it work, but I know very little about reason so I can't
trust my own results, haha. thanks.

get into preferences, then MIDI panel and set up the one
youre running. then, check if the MIDI output main channel
is the same as the channel setted up in reason. then- just
load a sound/sample into any rack and try to play. easy as
that.

"then, check if the MIDI output main channel is the same as
the channel setted up in reason."

if you don't mind me asking, how do I do that? :D

Preferences, Advanced midi See picture.

Judging by what your midi input is called, it would probly
be "Midisport2X2" or something like that (as you can see
mine is called SB Audigy 2 ZS MIDI IO 2[DC00]). Make sure
the drivers for your interface are supported by reason.

I had that part figured out, but thanks anyways :)

the problem I was having was that I didnt realize I had to
route it to the malstrom in the hardware interface. seems to
be working fine now. :)
