word..........
theres good hip hop out there if you look hard enough. Ae
are still my favorites, but i'm eager to find out what
Thirsten Howl III sounds like.
i was actually considering perhaps just makin my own hip
hop. i usually have too much school work to do anything
exciting most of the time, but i still got some pretty fresh
ideas about how i'd want to sound.

Yo, that term was probably coined buy guys like us. y'know
what I mean: middleclass white thrash college/ Mcjob types
with swollen CD & MP3 collections and more online friends
than flesh'n'blood ones. We should at least have the credit
of being 'intelligent' about it,, right? But has anyone
tried actually dancing along Venetian Snares or Lesser, or
Ae for that matter. Perhaps dancing in our heads, but I
doubt that our bodies are capable of it. Anyway, every tag
with 'intelligent' atribute scares me off (I mean I hate
intelligent drum'n'bass tag and who says that Bukem and
4hero are more intelligent than Krust or Jonny L who happen
to be my d'n'b faves at the moment). And, speaking of
Octagon and Dan da Automator, Anyone checked out his
Deltron 3030? Awesome stuff, way better than Gorillaz.

Yough, but what about Things you can do, that child sample
is the most hilarious thing I've heard for a long time. And
that Virus track, jez, It made shiver a couple of first
times I heard it. Pretty funny anarchist rhymes too (if a
bit simplified, but that's anarchism for you, at least in a
pop world).

Hopefully they're not 'dictionary' rappers or something.
Like, parts of Anti-pop consortium's latest EP on Warp (The
ends...) were a bit too much weird-by-numbers shit for me.
Nice but somehow lacking substance. Hope the album improves
on this.

leftrightronic: I hope that was "sarcasm" or you a fucking
dumb idiot.

theres so much good hip hop, im almost more into hip hop
than a lot of dnb stuff.

INTELLIGENT DANCE
MUSIC how dumb is that!?!?!?! I mean hip hop is then
Intelligent Dance Music.
Its made by intelligent people in a intelligent way and I
always dance to it, I rather dance to hip hop than a crazy
drill n base tune.

Why cant we talk about hip hop here?

Prefuse73, Cannibal Ox, Anti Pop, BOC (they definitly
representig hip hop to the fullest, only hip hop beats),
Autechre (pure glitch hop, they even made a Rakim remix and
said that Seans mostly into hip hop) Luke Vibert is hip hop
(he said so many times that hip hop is what he mostly listen
to), amon tobin ´like hip hop most etc etc

DONT YOU EVER FRONT ON HIP HOP AGAIN!!!!!!!

That was the most ignorant statement I ever seen from u.

WE ARE DEFINITLY ALOWED to talk about hip hop = "GOOD
MUSIC".

Is this a idm message board, NO, this is a Aphex Twin
messageboard where smart people talks about good "electronic
music" (mostly aphex twins music). Every music style is
electronic these days.

Who are you to decide what to talk about!?!??! :(

Yo, archrival chill out, we're all on the same side here I
think, and I think that leftrightronic's remark was a joke
anyway. But you're dead right on hip-hop and IDM connections
(on the IDM term check out my previous comments). Have you
heard Machine Drum? It almost kicks Prefuse's arse. Cannibal
Ox fuckin'rule. What about the late CoFlow, dig them?

hip hop but only, when i am outside with friends , but
alone, never....i think always hip hop is so political.

Dr. Octo is anything but political. He's just good dirty
fun. Swollen Members are more Dungens and Dragons than
politics too.

Right now My faves are Canibal OX and Aesop Rock as well as
Dr. Octogon. (many others but those are my favourits right

hop-hip production and "idm(stupid fucking label)"
production are pretty much the same creative spirit. if you
ignore hip-hop totally, you are a fool.

labels are stupid. "idm" comes from acid house, techno, and
hip-hop. most "idm" artists are influenced by hip-hop
production in some way.

Archrival: I'm a huge hip hop fan, especially shadow, it
makes me sad that my friends won't broaden their horizons
past 'gansta rap'.
One of my favourite tunes is Quannum MC's - I Changed My
Mind (Stereo MC's Remix). If you can watch the video at
quannum.com cos its absolutely brilliant. One of my
favourite shadow tracks is stem/lomg stem, but I love them
all!
Sorry, I'd type more but my cat is being too affectionate
