I Remember Nothing

We were strangers.
We were strangers, for way too long, for way too long,
We were strangers, for way too long.
Violent, violent,
Were strangers.

Get weak all the time, may just pass the time,
Me in my own world, and you there beside,
The gaps are enormous, we stare from each side,
We were strangers for way too long.

Violent, more violent, his hand cracks the chair,
Moves on reaction, then slumps in despair,
Trapped in a cage and surrendered to soon,
Me in my own world, the one that you knew,
For way too long.
We were strangers for way too long.
We were strangers,
We were strangers for way too long,
For way too long.

Gay4it, although there's a couple of tracks that sound like
they're going through the motions, there's so many fever
pitch moments. Gay4it.

i do. but i'm not sure this one is better than Closer.

Those with habits of waste,
Their sense of style and good taste,
Of making sure you were right,
Hey, don't you know you were right?

I was thinking about buying this or 'Closer', but I didn't
care for 'Substance' which is the only one I've heard... are
Closer and Unknown Pleasures so different from Substance
that I may still like them?

Hell yeah ! I don't like both Substance and UP but Closer is
really awesome !!! It doesn't sound like the same band !

Thats interesting... Yeah, I was under the impression that
they sucked after hearing Substance. I'll consider checking
it out, is there anything that you would compare to Closer,
to give me an idea of what to expect?

i have a hard time to get in to Closer for some reason i
enjoy Unknown Pleasures much more but no doubt Closer is
good

You should definitely download some extracts. But it sounds
a lot more new wave and threatening and melancholic than
substance, which is really weak imo expect maybe a couple of
songs, don't remember.

really love Joy Division. I've been listening to "Digital" a
lot lately.

Substance is great too. if you like their music it's
amazingly unbelievable you don't like this one.

yes, Closer is much different. The songs are much more
progressive and more atmospheric. But I like all of Joy
Division's music, at least that which I have heard so far. I
own Closer but D/L lots of other stuff...

Substance has a lot of terrible songs that would have
dragged the album experiences down, but man songs like
Trasmission are awe inspiring.

"day of the lords" is one of those powerful tracks that
almost always almost makes me almost cry.

there's something of ....in it.

Substrance has Transmission, yeah, which makes it awesome no
matter what!

Substance is a compilation. And a damn fine one. "Novelty",
"No love lost", "From safety to where", "These Days" ... all
monuMENTAL.

...and so is Still....with "dead souls" and Some live
versions...weak at parts but still momentous.

yes, it's a compilation, but with it i really feel quite
satisfied with joy division dosages for good periods of
time. quite excellent.

ATMOSPHERE IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER

I agree.

I also agree about Atmosphere - I have thought about having
it played at my funeral, depressing I know but I think my
mates might still laugh cos we have a joke that the intro
sounds like the Baywatch theme (vice versa obviously),
although this still doesnt taint it for me.

If your into Joy Division and havent seen 24hour party
people then its worth a watch.

'Wilderness' has rocketed up to one of my top 5 JD tracks.

sing along:

I travelled far and wide and unknown martyrs died,
What did you see there?
I saw the one sided trials,
What did you see there?
I saw the tears as they cried,
They had tears in their eyes,
Tears in their eyes,
Tears in their eyes,
Tears in their eye.

you're right. "day of the lords" is massive

This is the car at the edge of the road,
There's nothing disturbed, all the windows are closed,
I guess you were right, when we talked in the heat,
There's no room for the weak, no room for the weak,
