Autechre: Spot on Italian TV!

Very very good, one of the greatest commercial I ever saw.
LG presents his new mobile phone and in the background
there's RENIFORM PLUS by Ae from Draft 7.30.
The clip is very good... it could be a spot by C.
Cunningham.

Tridenti saw it too and we both appreciate it.

\/\/.

I haven't seen the ad but by the power of associaiton with
the standard of excellence as exemplified by the music of

i agree
that's not very good

i hate it when ads exploit 'elitist' or 'alternative'
music.
Seen an ad with Morphines The Other Side in it. Kind of I
respect the guy who knows that there was such a band but
he'd better leave this music alone.

or this is a marasm, possibly we shouldn't care
I don't watch TV so this must not bother me

that was actually pretty fucking rad.

kinda strengthens the idea of idm being only commercially
useable in commercials, eh?

i really don't see the problem. they find ae music cool and
suiting for theire commercial.. how should this affect ae
music in any way? they still don't make the music to sell.

Nice!
I think they were trying to trump Motorola's use of Dabrye's
"Smoking the Edge" for their Razr phone, however.
I always get goosebumps when I hear an "IDM" artist on a
commercial or movie...well, not movie...yet.

Oh wait, this just in: AE has just commissioned the use of
"Grantz Graf" to be on the soundtrack to "Monster In Law 2".

It reminds me of the ad for the Motorola Razr, which looks
identical to this phone. On the advert for that they used
Dabrye - Hyped up plus tax.

Rip off ad.

advertising is a great way of earning money to support
yourself when creating music, especially as record labels
dont pay artists, and due to downloading funds to support
the creation of new work has greatly reduced affecting
smaller labels more than greater labels, as they continue to
support themselves with sponsorships, clothig deals, radio
play etc etc
therefore.....this advert is good (as is the orange advert
before the phantom menace with the wireframe tron face) . .
. hint hint
download bigger artists....(i mean major labels)
but if you try before you buy with smaller labels...then DO
buy!!!
merry xmas!

i don't see where the exploiting's being involved. the
director of the commercial found a good track to fit the
mood of the commercial (or perhaps even the other way
around, he wanted to make a commercial using - as opposed to
exploiting - the feeling of the track).
btw, one of the things why this a good commercial, for me,
is that it is not clear what was more important for the
director, the images or the music...or the message. it all
complements eachother. and in a respectful way.
this is not exploiting, this is more like using things made
by others in a respectful way. i think it's pretty negative
to see this as exploiting.
