I love using my fruityloops an all the VST's I have to go
with it. I have heard that you cannot use reaktor an shit
with reason. Is this true? Can you control events and stuff?
And how is it with reguards to making custom sounds with the
generators?

It takes forever to get it all togethern (I have tried in
the past and given up because it became more of a hassle
than seemed worth), so I just want some imput before I go
and spend more time than I can afford upping and
installing....

of course u can control events!
several different ways:
sequencer (many different interfaces, AND more powerful than
the one in fruityloops)
and u can put in sequencers as a piece of equipment that
will sequence ur synthesiser or whatever

custom sounds?
it comes w/ a software synth (much better than the ones in
fruityloops i think)
and a sampler
and tonnes of effects, of course...

trust me its much more flexible and powerful than
fruityloops..
of course its more complicated.. but u'll get it pretty
fast, w/ some experimentation

I have to clear some space on my harddrive... I only have
300 MB left! But I want to get that Reason stuff off you
soon, Aminal. I had to delete that spy game, dammit... I
need a new harddrive, and fast.

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-02-28 03:44 [#00105873]

Yeah, but does it come with VST instrument and effect
support like fruity does? I love my different VST's....

And I don't mean the step sequencer in fruity, I mean the
event editing envelopes that allow you to control
adjustments in the knobs while the song is underway and shit
like that....

offline dave from saskatoon (Canada) on 2002-02-28 03:47 [#00105879]

it probably dose, and more

offline AMinal from Toronto (Canada) on 2002-02-28 03:54 [#00105895]

ya daves right
u can control all the knobs like it was real equipment
directly,

OR

u can sequence the changes with the event envelopes or
whatever its called..
u can assign it to ANY parameter
all u do is connect the cable from the sequencer to the in
port of whatever it is ur controlling...

all the interface is like real equipment which makes it
more intuitive, but also takes getting used to

it comes with several effects.. i think u can add more VST
shit.. i haven't tried yet though

"Reason is sooo much better than Fruityloops", pffff

Can Reason handle VSTIs, DXI, External FX, sequence external
gear, Buzz gear? Does it contain Scratcher, Granulizer? No,
they both have different qualities...
