good good stuff. this actually reestablished my faith in
aphex. a better breezeblock than others i've listened to.
right now... it got me into the old venetian snares one from
2003.

someday, ill see aphex live. .. . . . . maybe.

progressed

im going to make at least an 4 hour show on him one
day..most likely next year. you're very welcome to join in
at the time and hear the progression there :) it's hard to
show that in half an hour i suppose..

i agree. shame it was also the producers last show; perhaps
there would have been more?

he certainly deserves more than an hour stint at 1.30 in the
morning. why the fuck is on at that time btw?

The great thing about that is you just know that a whole new
heap of people / kids will have been listening to Radio 1
that night, tuned in in the middle of the set and been
astounded...and now converted... :-)

The kids couldn't give a fuck about good music. These little
cheifs are listening to The Killers and Franz Ferdinand for
fuck's sake. They think Mylo is experimental electronica.
They'll just have heard ten seconds of some music that isn't
recommended by the NME, thinks it's some weird old raver
shit and turn the dial to another station. (if they listen
to the radio anyway.)
Jesus, I'm 22 and feel like a middle aged record shop
assistant.

Uh, no. I like the Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand, but I
also like listening to Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Walter/Wendy
Carlos, Ihlan Mimaroglu, (electronic) John Cage.....

no imagination when it comes to music.

Well, geraldine, it was, in fact, broadcast on FM and DAB in
the UK as well as an internet stream. I recorded it from the
FM broadcast, which is the only lossless form since DAB,
whilst admittedly digital, is still lossy compressed.
And why would I convert an internet stream to flac? That's
just madness.

I took a stab and suggested that they let aphex email her a
set 5 mins beofore the show so its as fresh as fuck but not
necessarily live. A tame suggestion, i know....hardly winner
material.
