Hopefully this isn't too randomly-specific / off-topic and will others find it funny... but, I randomly discovered this , chock full of humorous hate and hostility. Much is unintentionally brilliant and overall it seems like a prime example of typical american thought about the world. it's really sad, the whole fucked-up situation in iraq now, and how in the u.s. so few logical arguments get made, rather it's a "red versus blue team" bitchfest. The kind of people posting in the linked thread scare the hell out me, as well as provide something to guiltily laugh about for the sheer rediculousness of it. examples: "Say and believe what you like... I'm just glad that we are smacking the BAD GUYS over there and not on your street... If they were not a threat then why would we be pushing them back??? I do not remember bombing and killing them before all this... You say it is OUR fault then??" "When all these threads are distilled and the common denominator emerges, what we plainly see is; American BRAVES who are saving your doughnuts = WE generation French liberal types who do not give diddly squat = ME generation" "The energy industry is keeping your cold arse warm at a low cost... You really think that these people are willing to sacrifice American BRAVES for their profit??? You are drilled...." Elsewhere in the forum it's the same tripe (I think the posters all live and gossip in the same area). Post some of your favs if you like, or why I'm an utter twat for posting this. Or post some comparable hillariousy over-the-top flame threads that you enjoy. Or, if you're a moderator and feel so inclined, delete this thread for obvious waste-of-space and flame-encouraging reasons.) Or, maybe we could all sign up and pull a forum hijack ala virginpusher and inject some sense into the place. give me some thoughts. |
