posted about this ages ago, only without an audio sample-

please download this AMAZING jazz song (accept the https certificate)....
it's the very last song on the first track of madlib's mind
fusion volume 2, track one.

here's the tracklist (for the whole cd; the whole 3
tracks... so i don't think it's the very last track of this
list)

1 Brian Auger / Starting Again
ÛÛ
2 Cortex / n/a & Jackie Mcclean / Soul
ÛÛ
3 Johnny Hammond / Back To The Projects
ÛÛ
4 Mary Lou Williams / Pale Blue
ÛÛ
5 Henry Franklin / n/a
ÛÛ
6 Azymuth / n/a (from Light As A Feather)
ÛÛ
7 Gerge Duke / Feels So Good & Willie Tee And The
Gaturs / ÛÛ
Concentrate
ÛÛ
8 Elvin Jones / Time Capsule
ÛÛ
9 Patrice Rushen / Before The Down
ÛÛ
10 Juju / n/a & Unknown Artist / Baltimore Oriole
ÛÛ
11 Marcos Valle / n/a
ÛÛ
12 Joyce / n/a & Pharaoh Sanders / Casino Latino
ÛÛ
13 Duke Ellington / One Of The Only Funky Songs He Did
In ÛÛ
The 70's
ÛÛ
14 Bayete / Let The Music Take Your Mind
ÛÛ

Any help would be reeeally appreciated. Even if you've no
chance of figuring it out, i'd really reccomend you
download; it's a beautiful track. makes me wish i still
smoked dope.

it's quite ok, but if you find it that awesome, I
suggest you listen more to other jazz as well...

but.. I do listen to jazz, quite a bit of it.

It's just killing me, not knowing who did this track, what
it is, not having a full version of it and the album it's
from...

that suggestion is not meant like "oh, you just think it's
awesome because you haven't heard other jazz you wankshot,"
but rather "it's quite similar to quite a bit of the other
jazz I've heard, and I think you'd enjoy that too"

I just figured it could sound rude.

oh you beat me to it with what seems to have been the
correct interpretation, I think...

I'm not sure I'm getting all of this.. didn't you say it was
by madlib?

it did kinda come across as that :)

it was so out-of-character, however, that i didn't respond
angrily as i usually would've.

it's a lovely sound though, isn't it? you can almost smell
the smokey jazz club.. mmmmmm gorgeous

it's not by madlib,

it's the last tune on the first track of his "Mind Fusion
Vol 2" mix. This mix has 3 tracks on the CD - so i can't
tell from the tracklisting (above) which this very song is.

I've tried listening to all of the first track, and
following through the tracklist, but can't tell where one
track ends and another begins.. Sounds stupid, but you can
never know with songs you don't know, whether they're
ending, or whether they're just evolving.

It's a great mix, i really advise you to get it. A couple of
REALLY REALLY dodgy tunes (especially the tune that comes
before this one), but all in all it's great.
