something happened to my audio drivers or anything!

when i'm using ableton live and want to record something
from the microphone, it just delays the sound on and on...

so my soundcard somehow sends the sound from the output port
to the microphone again... huh ?

i already checked in the volume properties that just the
"microphone" port is chosen... but nothing happens still.

is the ground from the record player connected properly, is
microphone boost off on the mic in, is there phantom power,
is the computer hooked up to one of the channels on your
mixer, routing it back, creating a loop?

no.. i mean i can even make something like this - i play
some record on winamp, than check the microphone box in the
volume settings and voila - instant beat mangling action

get yourself a proper soundcard. most onboard soundcards
fucking suck when it comes to audio input, and so all sorts
of whack shit.

a sb live! can be picked up quite cheap.
