This looks like an fun toy for electronic music creation -
Yamaha's EZ-EG guitar, designed for learning chords, turns out to
be a pretty neat midi controller, especially for the money.

This thread explains it all more:

Anyone here played with one of these?

Are you thinking of getting one?

not sure, depends what they're like as midi instruments.

I guess i would ask since you posted "designed for learning
chords"... do you play guitar or are you planning on using
this to learn?

i play pretty awfully at the moment... so, do i play - yes?
no? :)

certainly wasn't considering using it for the learning
functionality, only reason why i'm interested is because of
the midi functionality.

i was really more curious if others here have used such a
thing as a midi input device, rather than using one myself
at this immediate point in time. seems like a fun and
interesting way to do things!

last bump - nobody's ever used anything like this? not even
a guitar with a midi pickup (and can share their
experiences)?

i'd be interested to hear what they're like. the concept of
playing a synth via guitar seems quite cool, but it might
also completely suck.

no, i've never tried one, but i think the idea is
interesting.
