is quite nice. ofcourse a lot of you people are djing so
you know how it is :)
the first time i was playing stuff i like and obviously no
one was into that..im thinking people into that sort of
stuff don't go out much. and well, i decided to play
something more dance oriented but still quality stuff and
people actually liked it. they even wanted me to continue
but the club closes at 4am so i had to stop..i must say i
really enjoyed it :)

oh, and i saw trevor dunn's trio just before i started djing
and they were brilliant! i didn't expect them to be so good
especially considering their age..it was quality!

wow, that's interesting - sounds like a great experience.

glad you enjoyed the trio as well... i think they're great
live.

right. i didn't even know trevor plays a classic bass :) so
that was just a bonus. i sort of expected them to sound more
rockish..i was listening to their record but i guess i
wasn't paying that much attention or something..they
improvise quite a bit though, so that may also had something
to do with it. i definitely prefer to hear this music live
than recorded.

once you get girls to dance guys join too..apperantly
they're too shy to do it on their own or sumthin..

snares is a master making people dance

if by dance we mean: let the music rape you

well, you must see aphex then..if you won't change your mind
then i'll cut my arm off. snares is mental but he exhausts
people too quickly and his music isn't that difficult to
mix..aphex on the other hand is a master of djing and he
gets people on peak at the most convenient moment.

haha, no..i don't think people are quite ready for that yet.
i played autechre about 3 weeks and no one was dancing to it
:)
but i was surprised last night..i played some harseher stuff
and they still enjoyed it. i got this feeling i could even
play a vsnares track and they'd still enjoy it..

ive got a dodgy slot tonight. not sure what im supposed to
be doing but im planning for a chill-out set. and if thats
not the right kind of thing ill be stumped cause if I just
did the whole thing on the fly I will suck. And also it will
be a push to make 2hrs with how little of the right kind of
music i have available.

hmm, i suck at mixing ofcourse but i don't think people mind
that, they just want music to get wild to. i was doing a
chill out sort of thing before but no one was into
that..though it depends what sort of club are you playing in
i suppose. it's really hard to pick the right stuff..i just
bring a lot of music and see how it goes..it worked last
night :)
