Sifting through old works

I was just in the mood to clean today and I sifted through
pages upon pages of songs and stories and poems and artworks
that I have done over the past 8 or 9 years. It's really
strange to see how far you've come as a creator. I don't
like using the word "artist" anymore. Using it to describe
myself sounds pompous to me.

I'm in a band, back playing guitar, singing, dong keyboards
and some simple drum programming and I have not written any
pure electronic music in about a month, at least. I think it
may stay that way too. I dunno. I don't think I've wasted my
time, nor do I think I will ever quit making electronic
music. This is more of a hiatus. And plus, looking through
my work, I realize that over the past few years I have
completely neglected my writing. So therefore, I am putting
most of my effort there.

Every day I am making it a point to play guitar for at least
10 minutes, write at least one poem, write a page in my
journal, meditate, brainstorm and maybe do some art too. I
used to love art, and I have almost completely abandoned it
now. I really should get back to it - everyone thought I had
talent.

I've really wasted a lot of my talent the past few years. It
makes me feel old. What I wonder is whether I should keep
the site up or not. If people keep downloading, I should
keep it up. But I'm not going to bother paying 20 bucks a
month, especially for something I really don't need
anymore.

I guess I'm just ready for a new leaf. But I think I'm on
the right path now.

Thanks for listening. I just needed to ramble for a bit. :)

it is odd, looking at your own work after you haven't aid
eyes on it in several years. You can be both more critical
and more appreciative.
