Lucid dreaming type stuff

ok ive just done this for the 3rd time over this week. Now
ive been lucid dreaming for a couple of years, i.e. i could
control what i did in some of my dreams, but it didnt happen
often and only usually did when i had a 'snooze' during the
day. in fact anything like this only works when i go for a
snooze. Anyway!

so im lying in bed and concentrating, and let my body fall
asleep. now what i tried to do was make alot of noise at
first, but it just sounded like a snoreish blubbering.
nothing too cool. then i opened my eyes, which was really
very cool. at first it was black then like acid dissolving
my room showed up.when i tried to move myself i couldnt. but
what did happen was i saw my hands (i was trying to clap)
but they were translucent. my mind must have perceived them
in a mental space. and i noticed that on my right hand was a
ring which i put on earlier, but didnt go to sleep with.
then i started laughing and then woke up and felt a bit
shitty becuase my eyes were dry.

it was very fun, you should try it. its just going lucid but
opening your eyes. haha

Yes, I find it's easiest when having an afternoon nap, or
when waking up in the morning. Easiest when you're really
tired. You can put an alarm on an hour/half hour before your
main one, wake up hit that and then go back to sleep for a
bit and that seems the time I dream most.

ive had an issue w/ "old hag's attack" recently, which in a
way is like lucid dreaming

except its always negative in that you feel like you are
potentially in harm - im awake, but not really, physically
cannot move, i know im in danger cause i can feel it or hear
threatenting noises, but am helpless

it sucks - id rather be able to turn my room into a circus
or fly out of my bathtub - ... - sucks

yes. very scary indeed.

i would very much like to train myself to dream lucidly, but
i don't seem to have the disipline.

weird... sounds scary, yeah

thing is, "old hag's attack" sounds like it could've been a
translated version of the norwegian "enkemannsstøt," which
is the strange feeling you get in your arm when you hit your
elbow against something in just the wrong way, so
that you hit some nerve or something.. massive weird
non-pain uncomfortableness...

When i was frequently lucid i would get that. Its hard to
get out of because although i knew that if i relaxed i could
probably wwake up...i would often times panic or struggle to
get up when i couldnt just making it worse

Yes, it's the same thing. My Dad had it and could "see" 3
floating pitch black disks at the end of his bed and whilst
they didn't move, he sensed they were bearing down on him.
There's a school of thought that alien abduction claims
(that aren't from the bald-faced liars) are sleep paralysis.
The overwhelming sense of a malevolent presence in the room,
inability to fight it/move at all, etc.

I've luckily not experienced it myself yet, or if I have,
can't remember it.

I can lucid dream whenever I want. What stilaktive
discribed though didn't sound like lucid dreaming at all
though.

I have also suffered two bouts of sleep paralysis and it is
seriously the most horrible thing I have ever experienced.
On both occassions I thought I was about to die.

yeah thast what im talking about, i can go lucid, but this
is different. this is sleeping, but being awake. i guess its
self controlled sleep paralysis. which makes no sense.
GREAAAAT!

I've found that certain substances can be used to induce
lucid dreaming. Sedating antipsychotics like Seroquel gave
me my first experience (I'm not psychotic, just for the
record) - I remember it very vividly. When I realised I was
dreaming and could control what I did, I tried to grope some
females (well, I was younger). Other more readily available
substances such as B complex vitamins taken just before
sleep seem to induce lucidity also, but not as much as the
Seroquel did.

I've experienced sleep paralysis a few times, and yeah it's
really scary.

The first time it happened to me, I thought I had slept with
my neck kinked so that I couldn't breathe and blood couldn't
get to my brain.

I tried desperately to try and move but couldn't. I thought
I was either about to die, or already had.

I also have had a few lucid dreams. The first time, I
remember suddenly realizing that I was in a dream, and that
everything around me was imaginary. I looked up in the sky
and saw my closed eyelids from behind them, as though the
dream world was physically inside my head, and the sky was
my skull.

At which point, I started flying around and transforming
things, making cities grow out of the ground and then go
back in.

Lucid dreaming is so amazing. I haven't done it in over 10
years. Maybe I should try and learn how to do it at will.
Apparently that's possible to do.

i haven't been able to lucid dream for a while, or when i
realize i'm lucid, the surprise of it wakes me up. i think
i've been sleeping very lightly lately, because i tend to
wake up a lot all night long.

however, i keep having this recurring dream where my teeth
stick together and when i try to open my mouth they break
apart. then i crunch up the jagged broken pieces. and i'm
not wearing pants.

Such thing happened to me once, it lasted only like 5
seconds, but still was the most terrifying moment of my
life.
