PowerBook G5

Not that I would ever consider getting a first gen PB G5
when (and if ever) they come out, but after seeing these I
would have to wait several generations before I ever got
one. It's got 'easily broken' written all over it. Though,
these pics are prob. just concept art or fakes.

PB G5

that thing looks like it traps mice

yeah the new mac's are going to run on intel chips...weird
huh?

apparently ibm isnt doing anything "cutting edge" enough
(thats not supposed to sound sarcastic but for some reason
it does) anymore and apple wants something more forward
thinking (as they always do) - should be insteresting when
the sheet is drawn

Apparently though, if you rub the Apple logo on the top it
reveals itself as either an Autobot or Decepticon.

It is a funny limited edition Japanese 20th Anniversary
edition with a funny little comic and other bits.

You could buy a Constructicon set with all 5 of the
Constructicons in one box for about £70 when they were
released.

I have a 1st gen Optimus Prime. My grammy gave it to me for
christmas when i was a youngster. that's when they still
made toys out of di-cast metal. jeez that was like 20 years
ago...

my cousin had the very recently made truck that says

"i am optimus prime" really loud, and you could rapid fire
that fucker so it went

"i am op, i am op, i am optimus prime"

like some 80's hip-hop steez...that was a sweet christmas
present - i was 20 and he was 5...i think i got more
enjoyment outta that thing then he did

it has a broken bumper and exhaust pipe, i played with him a
lot as a boy. i did keep the box and instruction sheet, and
the red plastic thingy so you can look at the secret stats
on the back.

What was his strength? Wasn't he an 8 or a 9?

I thought it was really weird with those points on the back
of the box. Optimus Prime, Galvatron, Megatron etc all had
4, Hot Rod, Jazz, Starscrem had 2 each.

The only one with 3 points to my knowledge was Soundwave,
and I never managed to find him in the shop. Ever.

i don't remember his stats... he's been in storage for a
long time.

i think one of the biggest problems with the g5 is that you
couldn't really get it down to a low powered, mobile type
model without fundamentally breaking what made it a g5.

i think that art is made by a dude that does regular renders
of potential apple products. you see his stuff occasionally
on some site as "omg, the next iphone" or something.

does anybody technically know why they changed to intel?

better speed?
better physical construction?
etc?

it seems like a weird move...im sure itll do good things
though...

because ibm wasn't delivering the speed/performance that
they had promised with the powerpc chips.

oh yeah, and here's this

I really don't mind intel chips. If anything it will make
it easier to make good ports of PC games for macs. Same
architecture and all.
