What an odd night... been listening to Black Sabbath for
HOURS. It's now 5:30 in the fucking morning, goddammit!
Insomnia!!!

Anyway... does anyone like these guys? I can't tolerate
metal, but this band will always fucking ROCK!

I am a metal head at heart...(from my high school
days)...Never got into Black Sabbath too much....

I think its WAY BETTER than Ozzy's solo stuff....

Yeah, my Sabbath phase was during my first year of high
school. Ozzy's solo career is cheesy 80's stuff, ('cept for
the Randy Rhoads era, which was great), but Sabbath is
CRUSHING, and they're nice and scary, but not TOO scary.
Nice balance. I can't believe I still love them, I should
HATE them by now! First time listening to them in like a
year. Forget nu-metal, this is the shit.

Symptom of the Universe fucking rocks! Sheeee-it!

I'm listening to And Justice For All right now... fucked up
night. Can't sleep, and I'm listening to heavy metal. I must
be going insane.

I see all these young scamps wandering around city centres
dressed in Slipknot t-shirts and think fondly of my days as
a young metalhead. This nu-metal is shit though. I saw Limp
Bizkit about 6 years ago and never thought they've get this
big. They're sooo shit.

Sabbath are the real deal.

Black Sabbath Paranoid, its to metal like SAW1 and Surfing
sine waves is to "IDM(strupid fucking label)"

Paranoid is SO funny too... listen to Ozzy's lyrics, they
sound like they were written by a 13 year old. the anti-war
epic "war pigs" is so juvenile but true. "electric funeral"
is the funniest! 'rat salad" is a retarded drum solo....
but to even top that, try listening to their first album's
bass solo! compare it to Squarepusher.

Black Sabbath Paranoid is the 'death metal' starting
point.... to try the start of 'punk metal', you gotta get
Raw Power from Iggy Pop and the Stooges, one of the greatest
rock records ever.

Hehe! i downloaded a 2 disc "Best Of" tonight.

Man! I had forgotten how awesome they really where.
Supernaught , snowblind ,Symptom of the Universe , Tomorrows
Dream , The wizard ,Spiral Architect . PLanet Caravan.. ..
Its all good.

I get goose bumps almost everytime i hear the opening church
bells in their self titled track "Black Sabbath" .
Such a dark , heavy and atmospheric track. I wondered what
people at the time thought when they first heard it ,
singing about satan and stuff in the seventies hehe!

Hehe, I recently went into yet ANOTHER Black Sabbath
rediscovery period recently... I do that every year, at
least once.

One of the things that stand out with the Ozzy era
Sabbath... how eclectic they were. Seriously, going through
their catalog, they're not the numbskulled powerchord metal
group many people make them out to be. Sabotage and Sabbath
Bloody Sabbath are downright experimental and nearly proggy
in places. Beatlesque pop, synth pop, acoustic
instrumentals, blues rock, choral/orchestral dabbling,
chamber arrangements, electronic noise experiments, jazz
fusion, thrash, middle east sounds, folk, a touch of
medieval influence in things like Don't Start, piano pop,
ballads of all shapes and sizes... what didn't they do?

Of course, most of it is silly and misguided, but there's a
lot of gems in their canon that aren't metal at all... Fluff
is a wonderful instrumental, and I think the best song they
ever did was Spiral Architect... not the typical Sabbath
''sound'' at all.

Sabbath kicked ass! Too bad Ozzy can barely talk anymore
yet continues to perform.

Sabbath + Maiden + Priest = Grand Triumvirate Of Heavy Metal

awsome band.

radical thesis: the best BS record is not with OZZY... it´s
HEAVEN AND HELL...

That is indeed radical... it's an awesome album, I love
Children of the Sea. But I can't rate it up there with
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and the original. I don't like the
production values as much.

Mob Rules was good, as well. Dio Sabbath definitely put out
some worthwhile material. The worst Sabbath album I have is
Forbidden... I think Ice T raps on it.

i dig the first few sabbath albums...

there's a lot of great black sabbath covers out there that i
prefer to the originals. kyuss did a great version of into
the void, brutal truth and soilent green each did great
versions of lord of this world, etc. there's a whole lot of
excellent covers out there which are sometimes heavier and
often better.
