Wisp - Nrthndr

This record kills.

I might just have to reconsider my stance on Sublight
Records. There's been some good releases as of late and
they aren't all just ragga breakcore as I first assumed.

I like what I've heard of it but I think I preferred "Green
Hill Path" and some of his other strictly drill tracks than
this record.

oh yes. Have a listen on the media page at
www.sublightrecords.com, WISP delivers some quality stuff.
It's hard to describe, great beats, it's not chaotic or
anything but great beats nonetheless, melodies (although
very different than the stuff you'll find on Earstroke for
free)

i just got this today, and coincidentally, JUST finished
listening as i write this post. this is such great work.

it’s interesting the way it was done. it doesn’t give
anything away. i find myself really listening to what’s
happening all the way through. it’s slow to start, but
there is still TONS going on. it’s a very patient album,
and the moments where it gets really active make it seem
that much more incredible. it’s very artistic.

i love it!

I'd been meaning to listen to this for a while and this
thread convinced me to DL the samples. A bit too "IDM with
breaks" for my tastes, but it's well done.

Describe each track without using the following phrases

lush melodies
fucked up beats
alien rhythms
IDM
awful rubbish

seriously, what's your problem with Wisp?

the rhythms are complex and wicked. his music has melodies
in abundance, and nice harmony and counterpoint.

having said that, though, it's no grinning ape. no way
hozay.

errrrrrrr

I'm not being funny, and I'm not saying this just to have a
row because, as David Dickinson might say, I think you're
wicked, but.. THIS is why I don't like the music...

the rhythms are complex and wicked. his music has
melodies
in abundance, and nice harmony and counterpoint.

It sounds like an exercise in "What ISN'T music".

Can everyone stop being a whiny cunt? Thanks.

The last two tracks on Nrthndr are stonking, I love it when
an album is put together so you never quite know when it's
at its peak (i.e. not putting your best track first)
