I have never understood the thought behind the celebrity death hoax until recently I read a death rumour of Lee Mack that had spread around twitter. My response was a very quick google search for confirmation, which lead to someone explain that this was just a second wave to the death rumour his publicist denied the week before. Not a massive fan of Lee Mack but I felt confused as to the point of starting such a rumour. Then I started reading tweets with reactions of 'this is terrible, I can't stop crying'. I couldn't stop laughing for about half an hour reading the immediate outpour of grief to an unconfirmed death. I have no idea how these people make it through the day? |
