Depends on who the manufacturer is, and who I am stealing it
from. If its a small company, then no. But if its a massive
company like roland or akai, and the retailer is some
corperation that just writes off theft for taxes and
insurance, then fuck yeah. If its another musician, then no.

When the ipods came out I was in no position to be able to
afford one. I told myself that if the oppertunity if the
oppertunity to steal one arose, I would compromise my morals
and do it. Regardless of who it was from. I was just bitter
and jelous about those who had them, and justified by being
super broke. Of couse I could buy one now if I wanted,
however i would still rip one off if the circumstances were
right. The same same set of circumstances you detailed.

to the walls and get a massive synth... ahem... yeah this
motherload will be what you'll be twiddling away with while
you're at college.

Well, since there are a few more synth enthusiasts who seem
to be active here then the last time I posted this link, I
am going to be posting it again. Link Starter
modular system. $1200 in monthly installments. Plenty of
room to expand. Two oscilators, a filter and two envelope
generators, plus a bunch of other usefull things.

massive, i've got that thing in an imaginary, model-sized
version

would be quite deluxe to have that piece of gear as YOUR
SYNTH... wouldn't need any thing other than that to create
melodies... i will own that one of these days.

If I can't save up enough to finance a nord modular soon, I
am going to be buying one of those. I have a feeling if I
use that through reaktor and a good audio interface, I could
get even more flexibility and sound out of it. Although nuts
to that wood cabinet. I would probly take the rackmount case
option.

:)

I can afford $1200

yeah, in the scheme of things 1200 isn't that much, but it's
more than I have right now. =/

Nice idea. Like an expensive/actually good, "collect each
month" magazine, but instead of a wooden dinosaur/model
ship, you have a badass synth at the end of it.

i am purchasing the nord modular g2x and it comes with its
own program to run it on a computer and all

Yeah. Those look like fun. I have been trying to put
together a bunch of money to get one of those, but the MSRP
in canada is way too expensive, and for 3000 I can put
together a baddass modular system with all the trimmings,
and it would be analogue.

Awww shit!! I just finally got the tx in. Fucking hell, this
shit is LLLUUUSSSHHH!!! I am basking in some of the richest
basses and brightest beautiful sounds I have played with in
a while! And its not nearly as difficult to program as I was
led to believe (altho its by no means a cakewalk). Fun
little synthesizer. I already have the greeting message
changed to "I Eat Babies!!!" and have been navigating menus
and making some fat little sounds.
