maudlin - disintigrate

now, depending how "sumire" goes down (i'll upload and post
the final version of sumire if people want)

comments would be extremely welcome
thanks
_james.

Both songs are very good. Disintegrate has more energy.

congs on getting onto hedphukkerr's mix cd.

As for the tracks I wouldn't listen to them myself as it's
not really the type of stuff I listen to, but they're are
very nice sounding. I much prefer sumire. Disintegrate
sounded a little, I don't really know how to put it,
immature I suppose. It doesn't flow as nicely as sumire
and, for me at least, isn't as interesting.

disintigrate
pretty fucking rad with some smooth flowing vibes
i dig the vocals, they're fab!
fucking sweet ass track yo!!!

sumire
too slow for me, but still fucking phat and tight!

i would pick disintigrate as the single, its my fave!

sumire:
i like the processing on the vocals at the start, but it
sounds a bit odd when it just suddenly changes and pans to
centre. maybe it would've been better to remove the
processing a bit later - on the words "she closed her eyes
and prayed". there are a few more oddities in the vocal
later on as well.

Good drum sound, good bass sound and nice interaction
between them - always essential :)

Overall a very nice track.

disintegrate:
very tense - i like it. definately use this one as the
single, make sure to get rid of all the silence at the end
though.

out of interest, how did you record the cello? what
microphone(s)? what miking technique?

we had 4 rhode classic 2's set up around the cello 3 up the
various parts of the bridge and one behind it to pick up
more warm frequencies
