[schpam] 10:10 live realtime rocking

i just did an exclusive 10:10 live tracker project
experiment thingy. it's basically one (and a half) large
pattern(s) looping while parameters are beeing tweaked (one
at the time only) and skewed realtime. no vsts, no
automation, no nothing. live. probably a bit repetative
though, but it's more like how it would sound live.

LAZY_LIVE

go to hell!

I'd like to hear it compressed into a 3:30 min radio edit.
You got lots of stuff happening, but the bassdrum bassdrum
gets a bit on my nerves. sweet padstuff going on in the
second part of the track.

both me and Rex Rodney approve of your work

cool. thanks. livar, you're right. the repetative bassdrum
could kill you. my no 1 billboard radio hit would have some
more variation. and i might need some rumbling basssssss as
well.

question, though... tracker project + knob twiddling..?
could you just elaborate a little bit?

no knobs. using an old version of madtracker, were adjusting
loop boundaries of a sample without stopping it was still
possible. no way to automate that. do you know wny software
that can do it?

offline oyvinto on 2005-11-11 03:54 [#01775307]
Points: 8197 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

on the other hand, if i could assign midi knobs to different
effects in MT, including loop boundaries, it would be the
most awesome tool.. i have to learn max!

hmm.. no, I haven't come across anything that automates
it...

madtracker is awesome! I can't wait for v3 to drop.

i can't see the problem in implementing it. it's possible to
adjsut realtime, so it should be possible to automate as
well. i think yannick removed it from the newer versions of
MT bacause it often tends to crash when you go real narrow
on the boundaries.

v3 will be gold. but it's like xlt v2. it will never be
finished.

hahaha! yeah, I know.. it's been in the making forever
now...

yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to create something that
automates it, but as you said: there are things he hasn't
had automation on because it'd fuck everything... I remember
the resonant filter could get quite cranky...

really looking forward to full midi support. as it is it's
not possible to even assing midi knobs.

yeah.. we tried hooking it up for regular midi once, but
that didn't work either...

like using a midi-keyboard? that works. at least with some
versions. rewire to live also works. then you can export
track by track. pretty sweet, but very unstable, and useless
in a live setting since you can only have one module open at
the time. have to do something else in the meanwhile at
least while opening a new one.

we never got it to work... for some reason, we couldn't play
notes, we could just do stop/start/pause and lots of other
"commands" using the keys... it was weird.
