Based on The Movie with the same name.

If you have seen the movie and think this might just be a
rehash then think again. After seeing the movie and
progressing into the later levels of the game i can tell you
that the game is a prequel and leads up to the events to the
movie

The game is great on two-players. Even during a 1 player you
can jump right in and join the madness. The game seems very
similar to "Manhunt" playwise (shadow hiding, map) but
doesnt contain ultra violent deaths.

I recommend this to everyone!

Offical Site

battle on the streets.
The armies of the night number 60,000 strong,
and tonight they're all after The Warriors
- a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang
leader.

The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York
to their turf on the other side of the city.
All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are
20 miles
and thousands of street gang members.

The army of gangs owns the streets and there's no turning
back.
They must fight for their lives and learn the meaning of
loyalty
as danger and uncertainty emerge from the city night.

Rockstar Games proudly presents The Warriors for
PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox®
based on the 1979 Paramount Pictures cult classic movie.

Developed by Rockstar Toronto, The Warriors expands the
stylized cinematic journey of the film into a gritty
interactive experience set in 1970s New York.

The Warriors, available now for PlayStation®2 computer
entertainment system and Xbox®.

Yeah... the game actually has boatloads more action. I was
surprised at the lack of action in the movie.... but i guess
i dint mind.

Its still amazing how the game characters look like their
real life counterparts. Good Job to rockstar!

I'll try this game, I didn't think much of it based on the
commercials, but if it's anything like Manhunt, I am gonna
dig it. I've been waiting for another game like that.

Was that the same as the NES version? I loved beating the
shit out of those purse-swinging women.

Been a long time since I've played a good beat 'em up.
Fighting Force for PS1 was pretty OK, but games like that
have been few and far between.

btw: i bought the movie on dvd last year and i think the
track by barry de vorzon "baseball furies chase" is better
than the campfire headphase album
