im in the library at uni supposedly doing my essay, i

posting on Zilty) the quit is annoying me though, i have a
old and i wanna blow my nose and open my fizzy drink and
shout "piss pants" randomly

i have a strog feeling i wont finish this essay today :/

but on a lighter note my cd's ordered (see the latest
purchase thread) should have arrived and will be waiting for
me when i get home at 7:30 tonight

oh and i just had an exam and it wasnt too bad. Was a bit
dull but more interesting than this essay

I'm actually getting pretty close to finishing mine.. woke
up this morning, made a triple espresso, put together a cd
of my music for my cousin, wrote three pages and I'll soon
be going out to "practice" for playing the jaw harp tomorrow
at the very same cousins concert. oooh.. I feel this will be
my big breakthrough! jaw harp motherfuckers!

heres the title
Is prudential first personal choice in conditions of
ignorance an
appropriate model for social choice under conditions of
knowledge?

i found a nice lil helpful page that i can basically rip off
and elleborate on here

I have an essay that I have been working on all week:

"Do bacteria or viruses cause coral bleaching? Could this be
linked to climate change?"

It is really interesting, found some real useful papers on
the subject.

But the answer is no, it isn't directly linked to
climate change.

Your essay title means absolutely nothing to a thicko like
me :(

Points: 6196 Status: Lurker | Followup to bob: #01767655

its all about el nino ;)
i think i studied coral bleaching briefly in a level biology
along with the peppered moth.

my question relates to the veil of ignorance. Rawls (the guy
the essay is about) suggest a hypothetical model upon which
we should choose principles of justice, he says we should do
so behind a veil of ignorance, ie not knowing who we are, by
doing this we will choose fairly instead of selfishly and
its this that should be the basis for principles of justice.
basically the essay is asking whether or not the choosing
prudential first personal choice (prudiential meanining self
interestedly, first personal being me {i think, that bit of
the titles a lil confusing}) is ok considering in reality
principles of justice are chosen without such a hypothetical
veil.
now i hope to christ i got that right else this whole essay
will be a pile of bullshit lol

Tis only half the answer I'm afraid. But you are on the
right track.

The increase in sea temp caused by el nino and g.w. allows
opportunistic pathogens such as vibrio shilloi to invade
coral tissues and prevent photosynthesis by zooxanthellae,
resulting in the zooxanthellae being ejected from the coral
tissues.

i hope i got that right, or my essay is a pile of bullshit
too.

Good luck.

11 am day 2

i beat the rain to the library (i opted for a window seat
and its bloody pouring down outside) im all smart cos
straight after my lectures this evening im heading off to a
posh resturaunt and then out to the venue to get, as they
put it, WANKERED.
all that lies between here and there is a thousands words of
logical sense and a bit of reading for my seminars. and a
shit load of sudefeds too

i was listening to a silver mt zion - horses in the sky on
the train in, my god what an apocolyptic album, it felt like
i was watching the world slowly die, beautiful though, i
think it kinda freaked the lady in the shop out though, as
when i rmeoved my headphones you could hear a bombared of
guitar avate garde and it was too much effort to go into my
bag and turn down the cd player..

anyway i will stop boring you guys and play a lil bit of
Kingdom of Loathing

hey again Thom if your reading ;)

oceanography.

I emailed my teacher a rough copy of the essay, to get an
opinion on it, see if i was going off the beaten track with
my topic or not.

yeah i just finished my cause-effect essay for english. i
had to cover 3 main causes or 3 main effects of changes in
the english language in the past 60 years. i ended up
covering sociolinguistics for most of the paper, citing
Chomsky and a few other books.

i also finished an informative essay on Mt. Vesuvius 79 C.E.
eruption near Pompeii and Herculaneum. very good stuff. that
essay was actually fun.
