the melody is quite 80s melodic pop esque
the introduction to the glitchy beat was a surprise i must say. if i were you i'd probably just get rid of most of the beginning of the track up until the beat comes in as most people would give up on it i think. tbh it's not my thing but it's a good piece of music and i'm sure many people would go for this.

the melody in the beginning makes me think of twin peaks for some reason (while it isn't really very similar to the twin peaks melody).
the drums are amazing!
