albums you'd like to see a 'deluxe' re-edition of...

(if there are any)?

personally i'd love to have a 3-cd or 4-cd version*,
remastered**, bonus tracks***, extensive liner notes,
beautiful digipak packaging etc. of Mellon Collie and the
Infinite Sadness by the Smashing Pumpkins... that would be
great. not that it's likely to happen - especially for the
sound compression, i guess that's how the band wanted it; if
a "deluxe" version of a SP album gets released it will
probably be Siamese Dream anyway (not that i wouldn't like
it to be released as well); it would also probably be very
expensive (the normal version is already...). but... i can
dream.

*since it's already a 2-cd album, of course... probably
4-cd.

**that would really be important for me, for this album -
it's one of the few albums, along with other SP albums
(except Machina), whose sound really annoys me... especially
with such great songs... not so compressed, please!!

***i don't really care about alt.takes, but i'd like some
b-sides, and maybe live versions... maybe even a whole live
disc?

I'd like "The Complete Wisp", with a bonus DVD of him
hammering away at his laptop and promoting himself on
various messageboards.

wow... in my opinion, that's a perfect example of a 2-cd
set that should have been truancated to one cd in the first
place. i can't imagine sitting through an additional two
cd's. besides, they put out that expanded singles boxed
set, which was basically more songs than you would ever want
to listen to in the same vein. so, i would not be
interested in something like that at all.

Drukqs Deluxe sounds nice IMO.

i'd say Hangable Auto Bulb more than any other afx release,
but they've just put it out on a normal cd. :)

I would like a 4 disc SAW II with 2 discs of the original
versions before he just stripped the beats out and made it
"Ambient"

r40f:
The Aeroplane Flies High? yes, i've heard of that.
and maybe 4 cds would be too much for Mellon Collie (it
works for Kesto by Pan Sonic though, but it's a whole
different kind...), but when i get to the last track of cd2,
Farewell and Goodnight, i often listen to it or to
some other track again. and there aren't much "bad" tracks
in there (maybe Lily and We Only Come Out At
Night
but that's about it for me). which tracks would
you have removed to make it 1-cd?

impakt:
drukQs? ...now that's "a perfect example of a 2-cd set
that should have been truancated to one cd"
for me.
guess it's really subjective. : )
dog_belch:
that would be great indeed.

Carl Craig - More songs about food and revolutionary art.

A re-release, similar to the recent re-release of
Landcruising (extra tracks from the sessions, re-edits and
all remastered) would be fantastical.

i did make a one-cd version of it a couple of years ago. i
don't have the tracklist... it's not that the other songs
are "bad", just kind of mediocre, imo. a lot of it just
seems like filler to me, which makes me not want to listen
to it at all (because i know i have to sit through so many
boring tunes). just my thoughts on it.

I didn't know there was a rerelease of Landcruising. That's
one of my fave albums.

by "bad" i meant "kind of mediocre" too, i don't really hate
any - i don't skip any of them unless i'm in a hurry.

The complete Satanstornade sessions but I doubt the original
will even get a repress.

Sclah, your idea is worthier of serious thought.

Regarding SAW II, I downloaded the missing track from the CD
release and burnt the compilation over three CD's mirroring
the vinyl version. In hindsight I could have added the
tracks that are speculated to be from the same session (from
AB3 for example) but I feel nerdy enough as it is. I like to
listen to this while performing visualisation exercises. I
also made a compacted single CD version of Drukqs using only
the techno tracks. The album ends with 'Thank you for your
attention, bye..'
