Brian McBride - When the Detail Lost its Freedom

I'm really really looking forward to this release.

Its coming out on the 31st of this month on Kranky, which is
a kickass label if you don't know it, and shame on you if
that is the case.

Brian McBride is one half of Stars of the Lid, who are one
of my all time favourite artists. A few months ago the other
half released the eponymous 'Dead Texan' record which
rocked, and I think this will rock harder, from the samples
I have heard.

All fans of ambient, soundscapy, slow and melancholy, Eno,
Reich, Basinski, stuff should check this out.

Here are some samples and some background on the artist. Apparently
the entire record was constructed from sampled instruments
and sounds. Listen to the last file, its great.

Yes it sounds really great. It reminds me a bit of the
Disintegration Loops in mood. Some great sounds.

Can't find anywhere that's listing it yet though, fuck.

appear there, including stars of the lid.

Ok there are 40 minutes until its release date, and there's
nowhere on the fucking web that's stocking it (apart from
Bleep). Goddamn it, this is one that has to be listened to
on CD!
