Being young.

I really wish I was a young kid again, from 7-11 years old.
I like the advantages of being older in terms of having
bigger ideas, more skills, deeper conversations etc.

However, back then, everything was more vivid and affecting.
Games, films, and even music had a much, much bigger impact;
though my technical appreciation for these things may have
advanced, the sense of being totally absorbed in another
world while playing games, watching films, or listening to
music is no longer there.

I used to feel that way quite often... I don't know why but
during my highschool years I often longed to be a 5 year old
again without a care in the world. Now that I'm used to
adulthood, I don't mind it so much. :)

The stuff you discribed has nothing to do with age...I'm
still all of those things now.

those things.

It's rather satanic ? I see someone with a gun pointed
inside their mouth washed over red... how is that satanic
exactly?

you need something new, that's all. when all the mystery has
gone out of something, it no longer gives interest. that's
why so many people are into music forever - because you
never learn EVERYTHING sbout music.

i think you just need something new to inspire awe.

Isn't it missing one crucial factor... which is to say --
satanism. Is the colour red so deeply ingrained as SaTanic
to you guys? Or is it that it is combined with a gun
pointing inside someone's mouth which isn't exactly satanic.
Your labelling skillz appear to need refining!

Yes, music is a different matter on the whole, you're right.
I shouldn't have included that in there.

But I do remember getting far more powerfully involved in
films and games years ago. :-)

the reason films and games get less interesting is simple -
the ratio of good to bad is far outweighed on the bad side.
80% of games i see today are either sports titles or
licensed titles, and when it comes to films there are just
very few people who are trying to do anything original.
there's many more formula films these days, whereas in the
old days, people were still writing the formulas, if you
know what i mean.

Why has SATANIC become some synonym for violence or
meanness? Satanism involves the worship of Satan... if you
commit an act that does not involve the worship of Satan, it
is not Satanic. It's really terribly simple - don't allow
Christians to wash your brains, having their dirty little
thoughts propogated.

offline clint from Silencio... (United Kingdom) on 2005-10-23 17:54 [#01758864]

Its something I think about a lot really. I think when
you're young you don't have any references, so everything is
going to be mysterious and enthralling. And as you get older
you gradually build up references and realise the flaws and
lack of originality in 99.99% of everything.

This depresses me as well. I was thinking about this
earlier and was cheered up by the realization that I will
one day become old and senile and I can be like a child
again. I am scared to death of being one of those grumpy
old guys.

I doubt you are entirely. I certainly agree with a lot of
the supposed teachings of Jesus - such as 'fight hate with
love' and being kind and compassionate and understanding.

yeah i have quite christian values too, although it is
interesting to think that maybe it would be impossible for
us to have any other values as we know of nothing else. we
dare not even question it and just the thought of not having
those values instantly scares us and makes us feel sick to
the stomach. it's almost like it's off limits to our
imagination and our questioning nature

do satanists believe that if they're faithful satonites they
will go to hell when they die? and, is hell still the
epitome of suckage in the satanist's belief?

i mean, what's the payoff for being a satanist?

i need a hobby, maybe satanism is my thing you
know?

he starts telling a joke, but starts laughing somewhere in
the middle and never finishes. it's hell.

god is even worse. he always screws up jokes. "a man and a
giraffe walk into a bar and- no, wait, the giraffe is
already there.. NO the man is already in the shop. BAR I
meant the bar.."
