on normal train rides to the city, only people that talk to
me are weirdos, drunks or mental people.

I talk to people all the time otherwise. Why do I have to
talk to them on the trains and buses too?

When I ride the bus I mostly laugh (inside) at people who
have 9-16s.

When i go on long train journeys I always have every
intention of listening to some good music or reading
something that I've been outting off.

I've only talked to a non-drunk/crazy stranger on a train
once on a train from Exeter to London. Ironically enough, we
talked about driving. For two hours.

i always enjoy the time alone. perfect time for music or
reading or napping or thinking. Its like the feeling you get
when you are up really late just doing nothing on your own.

"btw everytime people read in a train, i'm sure they
would prefer discussing !"

> no : )
you're wrong.

it happened to me several times to think "damn, i just
wanted to read my book..." while meeting some people i knew
on a train who would sit next to me and chat. even if i
do enjoy chatting with them, and even if sometimes i
wish i would meet them like this, sometimes i just want to
be alone.

The environment on a bus or train is really interesting,
yeah. I really don't want anything to do with anyone on them
and I dread them talking to me and I doubly dread somebody
sitting down next to me. I often wonder if everybody else on
there feels the same way. I'm certainly happy with the quiet
tension. I like to observe how everyone is acting, and I'd
probably like to hear what they're saying, problem is I've
always got music on in those situations.

I like the characters on the bus. When I went to uni, there
was a lot of regs who all fit a mold. A crazy looking guy
with plenty of facial hair and horrid BO, a Japanese couple
who basically just made out every trip (gag me), an edgy
looking girl who seemed to be a junkie, two hot girls that
basically just giggled at everybody that got on the bus, a
gorgeous shy girl who was always reading, etc.

Something like the opening scene in Before Sunrise would be
nice, though. I'd welcome a social encounter like that. With
THAT.
