I'm going to say Low for both questions. I'm no bowie buff, but it's a pretty great album and fairly experimental for the time, collaborative work with Eno etc. |

Well, I think both your questions could be answered simply with the 1977 album "Low" which was Bowies first album working with Brian Eno, and combines one half of mutant pop songs like Sound and Vision", "Always crashing in the same car", "Speed of life", with the second side being synthy, ambient soundscapes of the highest calibre. I mean if you're just getting started, start with Low, it is genius from start to finish. Follow up with the following Eno / Berlin trilogy records if you like "Heroes" and "Lodger", Hereos has more ambient tracks, whereas Lodger goes a bit more down the skewed pop / Alien funk route. THIS IS MY ADVICE. I do like the post Ziggy/ Aladin Sane stuff more, I must say, "Station to Station", I might have to put that on now, had I not just received TEH HEADFIRE CAMPHASE! |

Go to a record shop now and buy Low, Heroes and Lodger. The best of his "electronic" tracks has gotta be Heroes. Great song. |

Thank you very much you good people. Yeah, "heroes" has been playing in my mind for about a week, that's why i decided to do something with it - to explore good old David. And perhaps belch's avatars had something subconscious to do with it too. |

I love Low. It's one of my favorite Bowie releases. When Bowie toured with Nine Inch Nails, they did a duet of 'Subterranians' and Trent played the Sax. It was fucking great even though much of the rest of that show sucked arse. |

i'm at track 2 of Heroes now, "beauty and the beast", sounds sexxy ! is that Robert Fripp on guitar in "heroes" ? is that Bowie on saxophone on that record ? ah, the seventies.... |

You're quite right there on both accounts. I know it sounds implausible but on the ambient tracks of "Heroes" he plays some really good, haunting saxaphone, to great effect. |
