i think the coolest thing is if within a beat you can make
it seem as if the tempo is speeding up, but is actually not,
the kicks remain the same and aint really much changing.
makes it all weave in and get real fat.. you guys know what
i mean?

You mean how like in songs on releases like Hangable Auto
Bulb or that style IDM stuff where theres the
snares/hi-hats/other sounds that are like "bzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
Oh and on that song called 4? I think thats a cool sound, if
indeed I know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I love that sound. Isn't it also on Autechre tracks
like Cfern and the second track of Draft?

I think thats adjusting the cut-off/volume or tempo-shift
in the piano roll. Thats how I get it anyways. I just can't
make decent sounds.

or you people realise how some tracks are actually much
better when played faster? Play 168 BPM afx mix on a higher
speed and turn up the volume ...

you can get whole new beats out of old beats by making the
tempo speedier sometimes, if the kicks blend in and become
one kick, then slow the tempo down again real fast and its
back to regular

So, like doubling, tripling, or quadrupling the tempo of a
loop for a selected measure the the next measure is normal?

no you increase the tempo of the whole loop -

so its like

Doom, tsh, Doom tsh Doom, tsh, Doom, tsh, aah,
tsh

you speed it up and these two kicks get mashed
together and you get a new beat sorta, and you can drop the
hihats and put in new ones and get it going right again

biut when you speed it up it turns into

Doom tsh Doom tsh Doom tshaah, Doom tsh Doom
tsh Doom tshaaah, etc.
