A few that pop into my head quickly...

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Newcleus - Jam On It
Jackie Moore - This Time Baby

In fact fuck it, just get Jeff Mills compilation on Azuli
Records. It has some seriously groovy early house/disco
tracks guarenteed to shake your derierre. Oh, and "The End"
by Change is one of the best tracks ever.

house music :

Madison Avenue - "Don't Call Me Baby" has a funky bassline
=D really cheesy though but who cares ?

and this other song can sound cheesy to a lot of you but I
love it, especially for the bassline : youreceiveit

i don't think i understand your question, but let me reply
with:
squarepusher - tetra-sync!

although i do think that for tracks with loads of bass and
funk, house is more suited (like you said earlier)
