Do you get embarrased...

...when people listen to your collection. I shared my music
in iTunes over the university network and one of the guys on
my floor said, you guessed it,

"What the fuck is Merzbow?"

I laughed it off but it was actually quite embarrasing.

I didn't guess it, actually...

..and I'd be more embarrased if someone was looking through
my stuff and found "Ooops I did it again" and it wasn't the
version with my voice recorded instead of britney.

if you want to be hip&cool in real life, share your Franz
Ferdinand collection, or something

and yes, Merzbow is something you should feel embarrassed
about
in real life only weird freaks listen to merzbow

hmm i was going to deny it Again but I looked at this...

2: someone who is so ardently devoted to something that it
resembles an addiction; "a golf addict"; "a car nut"; "a
news junkie"

That makes almost everyone in the world a freak. Smokers,
tea totals, alcoholics, workaholics.

I'm a freak but I'm not weird.

I wouldn't worry. The beautiful thing about uni is that in
time you get to meet a whole load of new people who are into
the same type as music as you and you'll love it when they
look over your shoulder and say "Mannnnnnn I love that
track"

you're weird!

but anyways, what would your average kegpack joe think of
merzbow? and what would he think of people listening to
merzbow?
right...so there's no point in letting people know you're
into that kinda shit. it's your personal fetish. not even
the misses may know about that kinda stuff. only on
anonymous mailboard you're allowed to show your appreciation
for merzbow.

Our college radio station had a late night show where they
regularly played squarepusher and other obscure IDM stuff,
so I knew a few people were into it. I also found someone
on itunes who had almost the same music taste as me, which
was cool.

net connection:- 2 million songs) just becasue i could & it
got some funny reactions. i wanted to put on some making
orange things, but i probably would've got chucked out.

giving the more talented producers a share of the limelight.

I have to listen to music very quietly at school. Once I was
listening full volume and went to the bathroom with my
headphones shooting out the music for the whole class to
hear. When I came back in, I got the stare. Well, the
stares.

I can leave my musical tastes and enter theirs, and see how
they perceive my music, and that is embarrassing. It sounds
dope with the headphones on, but from a distance, you only
pick up the really squelchy sounds and it does sound a bit
strange in an environment like that.

embarrased is the feeling when you fart in public and
everyone hears it. not when you're sharing your personal
music taste... i hate intolerant people. why care if anyone
think you listen to music that doesnt fit with the normal?
