I have an irrational fear of sharks. I know there has never been anything even resempling a shark within at least 1500 kilometers of where I wakeboard but everytime I wipe out I freak out. |

i still get freaked out (slightly) if i think about great whites as i lower my self into a bath...not that im scared of sharks. i read somewhere that for the 20th anniversary promotional showing of jaws, universal showed the full film in a swimming pool-fans could stand up to their neck in the water as the film was projected onto the opposite wall-seriously!!...fuck imagine that on strong acid??!!!!! |

A phobia isn't an "irrational" fear of something it is by definition "a morbid fear or dislike". It is an excessive fear of something, as rational as hell, or in my case, an irration fear man-eating sharks in shallow fresh water. |

im not scared of slugs-id freak and rip your face off if you put one on my hand though...i just find them disgusting..like i cant even eat after ive seen one. so im not sure in light of these definitions if i do have a phobia of them. probably not. i mean their hardly likely to chase me down the street now are they..unless i was going really really really slow... |

Nope it sounds like you definitly have an excessive dislike of slugs so it's a phobia. I have no idea what it would be called though. Maybe pulmonaphobia. You can put that on any forms you fill out asking for medical conditions : ) |

KEN have you ever seen the movie "attack of the killer slugs" or "slugs" Idont remember what its called, anyway theres these two people having sex and they fall off the bed and the whole bedroom floor is swarming with slugs and they eat the two people from the inside. i have a pretty big phobia of bugs...like spiders 'n stuff. also i'm terrified of zero/negative g's and free-falling in a roller coaster or aircraft. I hate that feeling so much. |
