my grandmother just died

sorry, everyone is asleep, i don't know where else to go
with this. she was 94, so very old. she was a holocaust
surviver and she never really "lived" after the war -- she
was always like a ghost, very frail. i was never really
close to her, but i am really close to my father and my
heart goes out to him. it doesn't help that our family is
scattered across the globe. he is in israel at the moment,
where she just passed away.

that sucks, man, but... it's not really a tragedy if she was
94, though, is it?

yeah, a good innings... and she is a legend. i went to
auschwitz last year - she did very very well. maybe if you
went to see what she survived, it would help?

yeah, i know. i just wish i could be with my father to help
him cope with it. he is alone there except for his sister,
whom he is not very close to. but i am in vancouver; my
mother and sister are in toronto; my brother is china and my
father flew alone yesterday when her condition suddenly
deteriorated. there's no one really around for him.

thanks. i'm sorry for bringing this to xlt. literally
everyone is asleep, my father can't talk at the moment..
didn't know what to do with this knowledge by myself.

That sucks, my condolences.

Don't be sorry man, venting is a great relief...who don't
want to read this shouldn't open the topic.
