I bought that "moog" documentary on dvd.

I was a bit disappointed with it. very repetative.

some GREAT music in there! and ofcourse no clear soundtrack
listing to be found.

Wakeman seemed like a fun fellow in it, but it wasn't a
display of action and special fx. Shame about the lack of
credits I agree. I hate that :(

The only thing evem remotely like Bob is the pic on the box.
They even fucked it up on the minimoog...

I quite liked the guy with the strong German accent that
tried to push synths on the people in the 60s.

and well, Bob Moog seemed like a lovely man, ofcourse.

I really loved the documentry, i learned alot really. I
never really heard much about him. I like to hear him talk
and analyze his person and character.

wtheck was that odd instrument he was playing at the end
where he was like conducting air?

Never before this video. I showed the small alex (bro) and
we both were like "wtheck/?!! thats freggin awesome@!!"

I totally need to have one! Thanks so much you guys for
releasing its name in my ear. I will tell you the mystery of
the secret sandwich i just ate

3 slices of freshly cut sourdough

slice 1: mayo, cheddar, ham, vedalia onions
slice 2: put horseradish on the top and bottom sides, then
place on slice1. add ham, ched, pickle
slice 3: cover the bottom (inside) portion with more mayo

complete. eat. omg.... the dough was soft and fresh and the
crust was delightfully chrisp like a cool winters air!!!

I thought the documentary was kind of boring, really. The
beer commercial was good. I liked the slogan "for when
you're having more than one." I also liked Gardening with
Bob Moog.

I think everybody, including Bob himself, pronounces his
name wrong. Two O's make a OOOOH sound, not an OHHHH sound.

i bought the documentary the insant I saw it in the music
store on campus, and I have mixed feelings as welll. I think
it was sort of hit-or-miss. The bob moog doll is ridiculous.
Unless the proceeds are going to Bob's family (yeah right),
doesn't it seem like a trashy way to cash in on the life of
someone great?.... I dunno

its "mogue", like "rogue"

I really liked the documentary. I wasn't watching it to hear
technical shit, I wanted to see what the man was like. They
portrayed him as a thoughtfull quirky happy man, which is
exactly what I hoped he would be like. I liked the amount of
time they spend divulging into in his spiritual beliefs as
well, which I felt were pretty spot on for a person in his
field. I also really liked the footage they had of people
playing the theremin, which I had never seen played before
with such precision.

When I went to buy a theremin, I decided against it, because
after playing around with it, I realized that it would
probly take me years of practicing to play it well enough to
be usefull, and I didn't have enough time to dedicated it to
it.

Isn't moog a jewish name? Isn't that how its supposed to be
pronounced?

in the extras on the dvd he talks about the pronunciation.

it's actually a Dutch name.

he says there that some people in his family say Moog with a
'loop' sound, others say it with the 'vogue' sound.

he himself preferred the 'vogue' one.

the spirituality bit was kind of interesting, but too long.
and then at the end of the film he pretty much repeats the
whole spirituality thing again.

'This doll was actually designed and put into production
before Bob Moog's passing.'

theyve probaly got a whole bunch of them planned, and they
only release em once the person dies!
what a scam!!! : o

FYI

Its pronounced, Moog.

not Moog.

Everyone always says it wrong.

hahaha

It rhymes with vogue. That is the usual German
pronunciation. My father's grandfather came from Marburg,
Germany. I like the way that pronunciation sounds better
than the way the cow's "moo-g" sounds.

i just saw the movie. i think it was great. i didn't know
what to expect since i didn't know much about the guy,
except that he was the pioneer making the first synthesizer.
great guy!

lot's of great music in the soundtrack, and the theremin
player (the chick) was totally awesome.

rip bob moog
