im at uni in canterbury 4th year but live hours fomr the place and ahve no where to live near by. after an endless train ride in expecting to find my loan in my bank account and my timetable all up and sorted, i find no loan no timetable infact im no longer a student. ive spent the morning in queue after effing queue sorting it out. It's been the most sodding dull and annoying day ive ahd in years! I feel still hungover from the weekends major booze up on the plus side i ahve bola on my cd player to calm me although i wish i could ahve burnt the new murcof which btw is amazing. /me dissengages rant mode |

University administration across the whole country is a crock of shite. It doesn't matter which university you go to, even the very wealthy and ancient ones, the quality of administration is atrocious. Students, quite rightly, get really pissed off when they're paying for tuition fees (rather than getting it for free as they used to) only to find the administrative process doesn't go smoothly. In any business they'd be sacked and managerial heads would roll, but in the slack, liberal, environment of academia, it's accepted. My lot decided to stop drawing funds from a direct debit I'd set up (without telling me). I didn't notice the extra cash I had for a couple of months as I'd just had a payrise and put the surplus down to that. I then got a "You owe us £1K+, pay up or you're out on your ear, you've ignored our invoice, this is your final warning" letter in the post, out of the blue. |

FUCK DUDE!!!! i got a letter in the post recently saying "you owe us £545 if you do not pay imediatly you will be removed form your degree programme" firstly i had no idea what the money was even for as id payed my rent fees etc, i mean i allready owe the student loans 17.5 thousand pounds plus the 2000 to the bank on my over draft and they were asking for £545 off me. I had a major melt down rang em up shouted alot, as it turned out they actually owed me £120 quid and i dindt owe them anything! Fuckers |

glad to hear it, the A-levels are running me into the ground. Especially English Lit and History - I just seem to get a ridiculous amount of assignments and each teacher acts as if we have all the time in the world for their subject, spewing out all sorts of bullshit like "oh I advise you to read this book by Prof. Blah Blah, oh and do more background reading for this essay, read the bible and the koran blah blah" AaRRrGh! |

Look at it from a point of view rather than a load of meaningless facts. Whether you're a libertarian or a communist or a tory boy, you can apply that standpoint to your studies. The desire to express your views will make it more interesting. |
