Favorite 80s songs/bands?

I know there are probably several documentations on this
discussion somewhere in the MB archives, but the google
toolbar applies suction force to the genitalia, so i'll
begin a new one.

SONGS/BANDS included:

Oingo Boingo: Little Girls, Gray Matter, Private Life
Madness: House of Fun, Our House (of course), Night Boat to
Cairo
The Cure: Lovecats, Lullaby, Just Like Heaven, A Forest?
Joy Division: Isolation, Colony (okay, Closer was 1980 but
whatever)
New Order: Blue Monday
Talking Heads: Burning Down the House, Once in a Lifetime
Police: Don't Stand So Close to Me (original, not the
fucking 86 version)

there are many more i would put down, but i want to leave
room for other opinions. Let the mullets and loud clothing
commence!

I must recommend Tuxedomoon. The album highlight is supposed
to be "Half Mute", but I urge you to try "Desire" first.
They get more and more recognition these days which can only
make me happy.

Holy fuck I didn't think anybody else here liked Tuxedomoon
and I totally agree on the album totem pole. And then Divine
and Holy Wars. Reininger is charisma.

Other 80s stuff I boner for, artist+fave song- The Smiths
(Cemetery Gates), Penguin Cafe Orchestra (Music for a Found
Harmonium), Prince (I Would Die 4 U), Eyeless in Gaza
(Letters to She).

"if you leave" by omd is probably THE most 80's song in
history.
I've really been listening to Maicheal Jackson's thriller,
beat it, and billy jean. Totally incredible music. I
remember seeing him do the moonwalk on the grammys and I
rate that experience up with 9/11, Kennedy assasination, the
fall of the berlin wall, space shuttle challenger explosion.
It really was mind bending. He was a magical performer and
it's a shame it has been over shadowed by his 90's waco jaco
strangeness. I wasn't ever really a die hard Jackson fan,
but he was incredible during the 80's.

YOU could do the moonwalk YOURSELF, including illustrations.

i also remember video games made about the dumbest crap...

i remember, in grade school, going to this girls house and
playing this domino's pizza game on her computer that she
actually paid money for. i beat that damn game and i don't
remember if i ever saw that girl in schools afterwards. with
my luck, she is probably the hottest girl in the world now
and she still has that game to remind her of her true
love.... irony.... ugh...

maybe someone can name this band for me...

it was a song called "Major Tom" and it was obviously a
ripoff of Bowie's space oddity, but i liked the melody in
the song, especially the chorus. Who's the band?

The best album of the eighties-
Scritti Pollitti Cupid & Pysche '85

Also: Best blue eyed soul album ever, biggest white influnce
on black music (for a change) since Kraftwerk ever and most
acceptable girly voiced singing by a man ever.

Oddioblender, the first thing that came in my mind when i
saw the topic was "Major Tom", hehe. It`s one of my favorite
songs of all time...it`s Peter Schilling by the way. And
there is another version of this song which i heard before
Schilling`s one LAZY_TOM look at JANUARY 2.
