I have itchy feet. I am working a crap full time job and have a university place for Oct 2006. So after Christmas I have decided to travel, and Canada seems the most enticing place as of today (my mind changes a lot).
I am thinking of going to Vancouver with a work visa, anybody got any experience doing anything remotely like this? Or any Canadians wanna give their opinion about the Vancouver idea? Cheers.

We accept people with open-arms here in Québec, but you must accept the fact that we want to move out from ROC (rest of Canada) ;)
(well, so do Albertians)

Vancouver seems like a nice place, I love the shots of the city framed against the mountains. Never been there though, and I hate their hockey team (The Canucks).

I live in VCR and I feel it's a pretty good area to be living. Lots to do: skiing/boarding, camping, mtn biking, hiking etc. City is really growing and turning into quite a cosmo place with loads of great restaurants from every ethnicity u can think of. Only downside is that there isn’t a large experimental music scene, seems to come and go…mostly DnB, tech house, hip hop etc. And of course the weed is usually fucking unstoppable.
Rent can be a pricey if you live right downtown (yaletown area) unless you manage to share it with some people. Gastown is where all the musicians live/hang out with lots of clubs/bars there.
If you decide to come here Email me if you want more info…

Yeah. Vancouver is a nice city. Too many fucking hobos, but thats its only problem aside from a whack music scene. Definately make a point of visiting :) Its beautifull out here.
system100: you can get some deals downtown. I am living in the yaletown area, and my rent is 800 for a one bedroom. Approximately 1/4 of what every other person living in yaletown pays.

Why go to Québec when you can go to France? Really, I actually had culture shock in Old Québec. Most people can't even speak english. We are talking north of Maine. haha. wtf!!
