Deserves a thread. He's a devoted artist and I love his
music. Love his attitude for discovery. Love his voice. I'm
sure this'll get buried quick, but atleast he had a mention.

I like Peter Gabriel, his song "Sky Blue" and many others.

Thank you.

Yeah, I like "Sky Blue", along with all the other tracks
from his recent album "Up".

His music is very different to everything else I'm into, but
if I want to listen to a good song I'll turn his stuff on.

realised i had totally forgotten that i have to check more
of his stuff.

"Up" (his latest album) is completely different. but just as
good. sounds very "mature", but in a good way, and using
more electronics... there is only one song on it that could
really make you dance, but it is a great one ("Growing Up").
"The Barry Williams Show", the single (if you've heard it),
is the least good track from it by the way. i really like
"Darkness", the first track.

"The Barry Williams Show" is sarcastic, though, isn't it?
It's cheesy on purpose during a lot of the song, reflecting
the lyrics...I found it really effective and powerful to be
honest.

"Up" is especially effective if you've lost someone
recently, or are contemplating issues surrounding that.

it is, and it's not a bad track, but it's the one i like the
least : )

Fair enough! :-)

Which track is the highlight, do you reckon? I find that the
first one always sends shivers down my spine; lovely lyrics
about overcoming fear too.

shock the monkey, sledgehammer, and big time are damned
tasty. let's not forget INTRUDER though.... did any of you
know that Peter Gabriel was actually an influence on Primus'
Les Claypool?

Primus covers INTRUDER on their miscellaneous debris ep...
food for thought.

Yep, those three are great. Have you heard his soundtrack to
The Last Temptation of Christ? I don't like the film much,
but it has a brilliant score.

His first three eponymous albums are about as good as any
non-Beatle trio of albums ever and Passion and the rest are
really good too.

tapeop did a pretty good overview of real world studios. I
would love to read something really in depth, though.

I think I've completely confused Phil Collins and Peter
Gabriel.
