After a misunderstanding, Ernest P. Worrell unleashes an
evil troll on Halloween.

I mean, if that's not a recipe for fun, I don't know what
is.

Latest good movie i almost saw was R-Point. I don't know how
it ended cause i keept falling asleep. Not that the movie
was booring but i was hung over and smooked some crappy
camel shit. But it seemed very cool. It had that kind of
"Lost" mystery vibe vs asian horror madness vs Apocalypse
Now.

My buddy!!

A movie to buy would have to be: magnolia

That would keep you busy for a few hours

And you know Disney movies just make you feel happy

good ones, with good acting, and a good plot, and some good
looking people.

sorry, i'm a fountain of lame humor. plus, anytime i've
recommended movies and people have seen them, 30% have been
satisfied, 30% have been dissatisfied, 30% experienced a
mixture of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and 10% failed
to complete the questionnaire. not a very good hit rate,
you'll agree.

maybe if you tell us what kind of movies you like, we can
tell you what movies we think you'll like.

i know, that's what i meant - i loved that film. i'm
guessing you already own the elephant man...

try some spaghetti westerns, like Fistful of Dollars, or
maybe some kUROSAWA....

ive only seen delicatessen from jeunet, but judging from
that, i can already tell that he certainly has class.

no i havent got around that one yet. i love the bizarreness
of cronenberg.

another good jeunet film is AMELIE, one of my favorites.

as for dead ringers, it is about a woman with multiple wombs
who is in love with a pair of twin gynecologists.
wonderfully bizarre. :)

10 pounds on Play.com, includes shipping anywhere in Europe.
I think that's a decent price for such a magnificient
movie.

Ed Wood is worthy of a pickup as well. My favorite.

I think delicatessen is probably his best work, but you
really need to see city of lost children too. It's lovely.

see "gates of heaven" by errol morris. it's a very poignant
and funny documentary about, well, everything. at the
surface it involves pet cemetaries. it moves very, very
slowly, but is very thought provoking. highly recommended.

i also recommend "fast cheap and out of control" by the same
director.

i'm guessing my favorite films you've already seen judging
from your list of directors.

"flirting with disaster" is a very funny film by david o.
russell about how what we believe about our selves shapes
our behavior. his film "i heart huckabees" was also very
good.

i think the best cronenberg film is his adaptation of "naked
lunch," but you've probably seen it.

i also highly recommend "after hours" by martin scorsese,
which is a cross between "the wizard of oz" and franz kafka
(the wizard has gone missing and all hell breaks loose).

holy shit, i see that you haven't seen "city of lost
children," the film jeunet made after "delicatessen." i
would give that film my highest recemmendation, especially
if you speak french. the translation on the dvd is
different from the translation in the cinema presentation,
and leaves out significant details. judging from your list
of directors, this one is absolutely essential. i say go
for this one before "amelie".

terrible.

I've had a quick look, seems to be quite hard to find,
cheaply at least. Play.com has it for £15, dunno what
the shipping would be like to denmark though. I recommend
checking out the version with the cinematic orchestra
soundtrack too if you can find it, i think it might be OOP
now though. Maybe there's a torrent out there somewhere?

Judging by your list Cuntychuck, I'm sure you will love the
following three:

"Twentynine Palms" by Bruno Dumont
"Blueberry" by Jan Kounen
"Calvaire" aka "The Ordeal" by Fabrice du Welz

Trust me on this

If you want Tarkovsky, begin with "Andrei Rublyov", and get
that Vertov's film by any means.

Tenebre (Dario Argento)
Suspiria (Dario Argento)
Phenomena (Dario Argento)
An Eye For Horror (Dario Argento)
Amelie
Ed Wood
