I've just had a complete nervous breakdown after an huge argument with my parents over the "lack of effort I'm putting into at college in my final year" even though I'm so run down already with courseworks and essays which keep me up everynight and an ever growing pile of books to read. I cannot believe that they're totally oblivious to the fact I'm working myself to the ground and just now I was seen on MSN actually discussing coursework with a boy in my class and my father has gone into a rage at my "pissing around" and not only is the internet going to be cut off but my computer is going to be moved from my room to the lounge where it is to be used by the whole damn family!! I tried to find some spirits but I can't reach the drinks cabinet as my dads around and there's no beer in my room so I've turned to this as a medium for 'letting it all out'. I've actually calmed down now through writing this but I think I need advice from anyone who has suffered a collapse and mental breakdown. (I'm actually shaking and wheezing in utter disbelief at the blindness of people) sorry this is a fucking shit thread |

My parents are more like friends to me than actual parents these days. Perhaps that sounds corny, but it's a very enjoyable situation to be in. It doesn't help my studies, of course, since I have a complete lack of self-discipline-but I'm more interested in making music now anyway-it's finally getting somewhere. Jumping through hoops becomes tiresome after a while. |

I think I have the best balance in parenting. My mum is my friend, support, keel, regulator etc. I love my mum.
