so this arrived in the mail today. I'm listening to it now.
it sounds quite nice. very minimal. but not in a boring kind
of way. it is kinda dark though. a bit sinister sounding.
just check it out.

I love what I've heard of his work so far, especially his
collaborrations with Michael Stearns. Does it have his
trademark "rolling pipe" noises on it?

If you want something that is dark and not quite so minimal
try Lustmord. CS2x got me into his work and I really enjoyed
it, even if it is depress-inducing.

Or try 'Stalker' by Robert Rich and Lustmord. Best album
either one has ever released.

yes I've heard about lustmord. I have Purifying Fire which
is a compilation of lustmord tracks. I like it when I'm in
the mood for it. "black star" is sooo fucking dark.

I have most of Robert Rich's albums. He is my favorite
artist out of the likes of Lustmord, Steve Roach, Michael
Stearns, etc...

I enjoy Lustmord, but I find his atmospheres-while
impressively dark and foreboding-can get a little too much
sometimes. Robert Rich is a lot more interesting for me, as
he varies his moods and textures more and has a bit of light
amongst all the darkness. I actually find his music highly
uplifting, even though it is very mysterious and moody
overall. He's also brilliant at sound design and uses "just
intonation" (a weird non-western tuning system) so you can
listen attentively to it as well as leaving it running in
the backround. :-)

*sorry for the lamely written post, I'm actually zoning off
to "Fissures" right now. ;-)
