The track does only appear on its soundtrack. It's possible
that there's a deleted scene in the movie where the song is
played.

nice avatar dave. Pi is one of my all time favorite movies.
get it on DVD if you have a player. Actually Pi is what
got me into aphex, since i was intrigued when i heard BBB on
the soundtrack...Also got into Autechre that way with Kalpol
Intro.

Requiem for a dream -- incredible. got that on dvd too.
darren aronofsky is undoubtedly my favorite director. He
does good audio commentaries too.

Pi was rightfullu called the Eraser head of the 90's...I
didn't notice BBB on there..usually they call soundtracks
music from and inspired by..but I doubt if BBB was inspired
by Pi as in it predates it..

Darren Arnofsky's directing the Batman Year One film as
well. Looks like there's hope for the franchise after all.

Restate my assumptions:

1. Pi was the first dvd I ever bought (after having seen it
in theaters). I became interested in a lot of musicians
(including Aphex Twin) due to the soundtrack.

2. Bucephalus Bouncing Ball isn't in the movie, but
presumably was included on the soundtrack because it shares
similar themes as the movie. (Bucephalus was Alexander the
Great's warhorse, which was apparently untameable, thus
similar to the stock market/216-number thing in Pi).

3. A friend mentioned that starting this week, Best Buy (at
least in my area) is having a special: For just $15 total,
you can get the dvds of Pi *and* Requiem for a Dream. See if
you can get this deal near you!

4. Most of the actors from Pi appeared in Requiem for a
Dream too. In addition to those already mentioned, some are:
[Pi / RfaD]
Joanne Gordon: Max's landlady/woman sitting outside in the
sun
Ben Shenkman: Lenny Meyer/Doctor at the end of RfaD
Ajay Naidu: Farrouhk (check the deleted scenes)/Mailman
Stanley Herman: "I only have eyes for you, dear"/"Ass to
ass!"

Three things is all i did to change my life. THREE THINGS.

#1 NO RED MEAT!

#2 NO REFINED SUGAR!

#3 ????

Batman Year One will be based on the comic "Batman: Year
One", which was written by the great Frank Miller. Miller is
co-writing the script, which is definately a good thing.

The film deals with Bruce Wayne's first year as Batman when
he was still just a rookie, and when Comissioner Gordon was
just Lieutenant Gordon.

The comic is damn good, so hopefully the movie will live up
to expectations. One thing is for sure, it can't be any
worse than "Batman and Robin".

If you haven't seen Pi then RUN DON't WALK to the store and
get it NOW...

Probably seen that movie more than any other...

Requiem is beyond cool as well, but subject matter was a
little to close to home and I found it real hard to
watch...

Check out LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN (the book or the movie) if
you want to see another movie from the same author as
Requiem, Helbert Selby Jr...LETB is a better film than
Requiem I think (but I love Darren A so much it's a close
call..)..

A Beautiful Mind...

haven't seen the movie yet but read the book a year or so
back...by Sylvia Nash..

It's the BIO of John Nash, a mathimatican working in Game
Theory....has a lot of problems with mental illness &
schizophrenia but eventually recovers and goes on to win the
Nobel for his early work...

Doubt the film will be as good as the book but I'm keeping
my fingers crossed...the reviews seem quite good so far...

(and no real link to PI apart from the Maths...)...

SEE THE MOVIE. russell crowe is amazing, as is jennifer
connelly. both were nominated as well as the movie for
several awards. i've not read the book, but after seeing the
movie thought it would be a good idea!! hope it gets there
soon!!

Theres also a book of PI... it's the script and also diary
of the shooting by DA himself...great insight into how to
make a movie with no money...

very cool...just wish my copy had a stronger spine as the
pages are already falling out..:(..

I've seen mention of a Comic book also (called I think PI:
The book of Ants)...but haven't seen it over here in UK so
don't know what it's like...I really should get a copy as I
love PI & I love Ants (much to my partners horror).....

Cheers LeCoeur...I think it's either just opened or about to
here in the UK so will see it soon...

Was so suprised to hear they were making it as from the
book, it's not your most obvious Hollywood story...

ehehhe.....tis a small world with some great actors in
it...=]

ohhhh i'll have to look for the Pi book, comic as well
(closet comic book lover here) !! if you don't have the
soundtracks to both movies they are both great....clint
mansell (who works with NIN) was the composer on both. the
Pi soundtrack is much better IMHO, but both are haunting!

Yeah, the Pi & Requiem soundtracks are great. Sometime
(hopefully released soon) there will be the Requiem for a
Dream remix album.

In addition to featuring crazy mathematicians, Pi & A
Beautiful Mind both show some people playing the game Go.
