I hate the idea of pouring one's heart out on a message
board, to those one knows through a very strange
communicative medium when invariably very little helpful
information can be given (due to the restrictions this
medium places on one's knowledge of another's life).. so I
won't go into details.

I will, however, say that my life is deeply depressing at
the moment. Immensely unsatisfying. I don't want to go the
way of poor k_maty. I keep on with the spirit that my
parents instilled in me; that things always work themselves
out, things will get better, and no problem is
insurmountable.

When that spirit has been tried, tested, and beaten rather
heavily by experiences, it wears quite thin. I've come to
learn that however horrid lonliness is, dejection,
desolation and despair are much moreso.

Dejection, desolation and despair: by your powers combined,
I am Captain Planet! GO PLANET!

oh dear. Looks like insanity is another to add to the list.

Anyhow, this is not a goodbye (like my last one or two), but
needless to say, this internet and its synthetic
"communities" are doing me no good. All I'm saying is that
I'm not doing so good, you won't see me around much, so
perhaps spare me a thought if you are that way inclined.

I wouldn't wish this upon anybody: that is all.
(as a note, the satie gnosiennes are the perfect soundtrack
to this egoist emo bullshit)

Dont feel downtrodden! Although at times life can seem to
deliever a pounding, it is there to strengthen you to the
future. Tough times improve people as a whole.

Dont let it get you down and remember that just about
everyone and everywhere feels like this a couple of times a
year.

I hope you feel better! :)

i'm sorry to hear that you are feeling down. times of
depression isn't very nice, but I've found that things turn
out good after a while.

a change of enviroment and scenery might do good. perhaps
take some time and go some place. do a little exploring. if
you take some time off the board i wish you well, and if you
want to feel free to drop me an email, and I'll try to
respond in kind words.

fairplay. youre in ireland, so i guess some fresh air
(however thick with the smell of cow dung) will do you good
:D

i've had a mix cd, in an envelope with your address on it
for months now, lying in my drawer after you helped me solve
a minor problem with my computer over the board. i'll get a
new one made and send you the old one too. i promise. i work
really close to a post office now, which will help.
my aim is not to make you feel a bit better about the whole
"synthetic community" thing, but it'll mibbe give you a wee
smile and keep you occupied for a bit.

take care, and steer clear of elliott smith cd's for a few
days :)

i don't even know your name, but i feel as if we almost met,
just because i went to dublin (makes no sense i know).

i always enjoy your cynical and sarcastic posts, though i
started to wonder what was wrong when i read your replies in
the jeff mills thread.

Please do whatever you feel will help to get through this. I
owe you a pint for giving me tourist pointers and i intend
to buy you that pint sometime in Dublin.

I know you were in wicklow to study. What's become of that,
if you dont mind my asking?

thanks for your kind words.

weaklingchild - i'd forgotten about that, but i do remember
it! that would certainly make me smile, i'd very much
appreciate that. very, very kind of you. i'll try to steer
clear of elliott smith and joni, they were played heavily
last night..

j198 - i'm glad my pointers came in handy, even if you did
find hogan's a bit crowded :) as for the jeff mills thread,
yes, that whole night was full of ranting, rudeness and
generally being as anti-social as one can be on the
internet. certainly a very terrible night.

as for my studies, yes, i've finished both my repeat exams
and I'm wondering now whether I've gotten into second year
alright. the move back home to wicklow has a lot to do with
this depression: there is nothing to do around here,
except lay about on the internet/watching tv, and it's
indescribably suffocating over the weekend. i'm moving out
very soon though and that should lift my spirits.

wicklow just isn't the place for a nineteen year old with
interests that don't include massy fergusson tractors,
"eweing" and whatever else it is these inbred bogger fuckups
spend their time thinking about.

true that everyone feels down like this sometimes. Keep it
going and know that we wish you the best of luck!

Chin up son, it does get better over time.

Get more exercise, go out for a binge, spend more time with
real world mates. It all helps you see things in a more
positive light.

How did your buddy kill himself anyway? If I was to do it I
would jump in front of a train. That's the man's way out. No
fucking cry for help there.

...and some poor sod who drives trains for a living suffers
nightmares about it for months and there's a 50:50 chance
they can't bring themselves to drive trains again and
subsequently lose their livelihoods and in extreme cases,
their family and homes. Some socialist you are...

...But I agree a "decisive" suicide is the only way to do it
if you decide to go down that route. Pussying about with a
pack of asprin or scratching your wrists with scissors is no
way to go about it. What is it, 5 out of 6 suicide attempts
fail? Pretty lame.

btw. the best cure for depressions is having goals and
committing yourself to them. so if you're running out of
goals lately, go find some new ones!
