Ok just finished listening to this album and holy shit is
it fucking good. Anyone have any thoughts on it? I imagine
this is what BOC was trying to sound like with Campfire
Headphase.

Review:

Iceland may be filled with lush, rolling hills dotted with
hot springs, but based on the worn, icy-complexioned music
the land routinely exports, you'd be justified in assuming
that they spent three quarters of the year in isolated
darkness. Naturalist electronic duo Plat is no exception,
layering disjointed, chipped-ice beats over a bed of broken
jazz drones and freshly squeezed melancholy -- it's IDM for
the hoodie-clad, sunken-eyed set.
There's a distinctly human feel to the duo's metal machine
music: Compulsion is filled with beautiful and beguiling
soundscapes that never lose sight of melody, even as they
become entrenched in cavernous swells of gurgling
electronics and pacing so glacial it makes Boards of Canada
sound like thrash-metal. The gleaming Reykjavik sun has
baked "Trainers" into a thing of golden beauty, all
shiver-inducing flutter and meditative glissando, while the
undulating "Kverkatak (Stranglehold)" retains a flair for
cabaret-style theatrics and a simmering bass throb --
cold-hearted cynicism hijacked by a roving love brigade and
tortured until it cracks the faintest of smiles.

They say beauty exists where you'd least expect it to
flourish. Despite its frosty and nearly impenetrable veneer,
Compulsion's cascading click and hum runs warm enough to
melt even the duo's own hardened hearts. 3/8/05

If the music is as trite as your review you should probably
cut your ears as well as hands off. 21/9/05

Then you have my most heartfelt and sincere apologies. Even
though you are plainly a cunt, but that's neither here nor
there.

Still, that really is a dreadful piece of writing.

only review i could find online and i wasnt about to waste
my valuable time writing an interesting review when i can
use my valuable time writing uninteresting insults. once
again eat a dick and clean up your grammar. that one passage
about the hand, ears and so on was horrendous.

When it comes down to it, aren't we both wasting our time?
It's just that one of us seems to be a third-rate maddox
with a cock fixation, you should read through a few of your
posts again. I'm not suggesting anything untoward,
just, y'know... i don't know where i'm going with this, i
don't really care, i've listened to the samples, they're
tepid at best, this pointlessness ends here.

[here]. make obscure reference to angelina jolie's adopted
son. you friend are noble. anyways i expected something a
bit more witty from a homosexual. eat a dick :)

no, he's just telling b6662966 she is a cock - judging from
most of her posts, she quite clearly is.
