offline Exaph from United Kingdom on 2005-09-19 11:20 [#01727395]

yeah its not very original.. more of an experiment - i only
used brushes and tools in photoshop - no manips there or
anything, no photos. it was 'painted'

Anything with tiny writing on it, tiny writing you can't
read because it's so small, is alright by me.

it's hard to please anyone nowadays. you may as well paint a
rusty axe with the blood of a disabled lamb

basically my parents split so i needed something to immerse
myself in.

thanks people. i only get annoyed by people that post here
without daring to put in their own critque. i can handle the
99 trance comparisons etc.. i just thought u people were
more likely to provide some useful feedback as opposed a lot
of the goobers on devart (obviously not you jeroen!)

the tiny writing is purely there for aesthetics - just like
the lines etc. but any suggestions would be embraced.

sorry to hear about your parents. that is very sad. i hope
you will find the strength to get through this moment.

i'm also sorry for being a lousy commentor. i just know i
like this digital art because it looks good to me. i love
the colour combination of that purple with the minty green,
the subtle patterns that fade out, the little circles and
the font.

not too sure about the bottom right corner. i think it would
be interesting to see the 'main' subject in a square
composition as well. and i'll be bold here, maybe, just
maybe, a gradient transition from purple to deep red.

I only use photoshop to edit pics at the moment, but doing
digital art looks like a lot of fun as well. Keep it up.

its so amazingly photoshopped, so hard-trying to make it
look professional but not achieving it. the filter use is
too bright.. man.. its just so wannabe! but keep trying,
eventually you'll hit the point where you can make exactly
the same things as those pros.

I swear to God I wish you people wouldn't use the word art
to describe bits of photoshopped, purposeless design that
only serves as an advert for itself, or some goddman sketch
you knocked out in 5 minutes. Art man, look at my
art. Read my book, I published it on XLT in 7561
instalments.

Well when you do it, in any language, I'll listen, until
then I stand by what I say.

Look at some art I did... for fuck's sake.

It looks interesting. My first thought was that software
effects were used but you said they weren't.

thanks.. trying to get away from that photoshop look is
difficult, especially when a myriad of shit is splurged out
like this. i think its probably more of a fumble about
before i can use these technqies to create a deep and
effective composition.
