the nowadays good ones

for me, taking in consideration what I most enjoy, the
names of the present and near future in the idm scene are
team doyobi, chris clark and venetian snares

their output till now is quite good, and they seem young as
to face new projects with illusion and groundbreaking views

snares has already released lots of stuff, but he´s been a
pro since 2000 only, pretty much like doyobi and clark...

of course there are lots of more names outthere, but these
three are really my favs lately andI see them as the real
pushers nowadays

this doesnt mean I dont like autechre (which I love to
infinite) or other important names.... but what I mean, is
that these new guys, sound new and fresh... and seem to have
the energy to do more incredible things in the future

oh, maybe I am just talking shit

I know many of you will disagree with me above all about
snares... but if I didnt menstion him I would not be telling
my real thoughts

I'd have to say my interest in the future of any sort of
so-called 'idm-scene' is non existent.

oldschool lovers tend to dislike venetian snares, and I dont
know why
I love old autechre, lfo, b12, orbital, the orb, fsol, old
afx... whatever... and I still enjoy aaron... and not only I
enjoy his music, but I think he is one of the bests
actually

maybe you could like huge chrome cylinder box unfolding, as
it is the more autechr-ish of his albums

if you ask dog_belch, earthleakage, ecnadniarb, qrter and
many others you ll see some opinions about him that might
makeyou want to forget about tasting his music

I dont know if he is good or not... but I know I love his
music, and thats more than enough for me

I like all the "old" artists that nackers mentions, and I
don't see what VSnares has to do with them at all. I find no
worth in him apart from the most superficial thrill, I'm
sure it's great live, whatever, beat wankery. This could be
my fault as I'm 15 years older than his projected market so
don't harken to me.

I think you just proved his point - he's saying that types
who like Ye Olde School more tend not to like Venetian
Snarf.

nacmat on the other hand likes old skool krap but ALSO likes
Venetian Snarf - he is a New Man, it's the dawning of the
Age of Aquarius, etc.

but then you have me. I'm not very fond of what is called
"old school", in fact, I find quite a lot of it pretty
boring. yet not as boring as Venetian Snarf. not by half. oh
god no.

out of the big names, I think autechre and squarepusher are
still in the good wave, but seems like boc, afx, muziq and
plaid are losing it

I agree with you on Chris Clark. I love Vsnares but I'm not
convinced yet he will progress a lot. As for Doyobi I saw
them live and was bored out of my mind so I never listened
to their releases.

I like the music of most artists you mention but non of them
are groundbreaking and certainly not Vsnares.
And don't wipe-out Plaid, Spokes is a high-minded
release imo.

Thanks for telling your real thoughts though.

.:IDM RIP:.

well... I was also impressed byt team shadetek last album...
though it was not groundbreaking... and it seems like jamie
lidell is liking himself lately and seems to be very
creative so he could give us some more nice surprises in the
future

found their music really great.

I started with Meathole, the first track (aanguish) is so
powerful, it the best for me so far. Do you have cool tracks
to recommend for me?
